What's more, her report said that in 2014, ICE released 30,558 criminal aliens who had been convicted of 92,347 crimes. Only 3 percent have been deported.
Her analysis is the latest shocking review of Obama's open-border immigration policy. And despite the high number of illegal immigrants charged with murder, the list doesn't include those released by over 300 so-called "sanctuary cities" and those ICE declined to take into custody.
She said that 124 criminal aliens released by ICE between 2010 and 2015 were charged with murder during that period and "associated with 250 different communities in the United States, with the most clustered in California, New York and Texas."
In a memo about the subsequent crimes of released illegals to Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, ICE said, "The aliens were charged with a total of 135 homicide-related crimes subsequent to release from ICE custody. As of July 25, 2015, a total of 39 convictions have resulted from these homicide-related charges. Of the 121 total aliens, 2 had homicide-related convictions prior to release from ICE custody."

One of the reasons for the Rise of Trump..

People are tired of it. Sadly too many decided to hitch on to the rocket of angry stupid that is Trump, but this is one of the reasons. I get the draw of his message, when people read stuff like this, they get mad, they hear Kasich "I'll make illegals legal within 100 days!" They hear Bernie or Hillary whose stance on illegals isn't much off the Obama mark, they look at Rubio and the Gang of 8... They hear Cruz but he's not as strong as Trump is in his FIERY LANGUAGE. And that's part of his draw.

This is going to end poorly for everyone I think.

The quoted section doesn't provide a total number of releasees, but suggests over 30,000 in one of those years. In what country and what circumstances these two previous convictions occurred we are not told, but nevertheless this is surely a point of concern. Panic? Hardly.

Furthermore, of those - 120,000 over six years? 190,000? - released aliens, there have since been thirty-nine homicide-related convictions. Against how many releasees, we are not told. But the total number against whom charges have been brought is 124, which without looking any further into it seems to be in the order of 0.05% to 0.1% of the implied number for those released after their crime of illegal entry into the US.


Honestly I'm no expert, but I can't really stomach those figures as being responsible for Trump. The way in which that article and similar sensationalist sources try to spin the overwhelming menace...? Maybe.

Criminal Aliens Released in 2014 Were Convicted of 2,560 New Crimes

In 2014, ICE released a total of 30,558 criminal aliens from its custody. These aliens had already been convicted of 92,347 crimes before they were released by ICE.

As of July 25, 2015, a total of 1,895 aliens have been charged with a crime after being freed by ICE. As of that date, 1,607 aliens had been convicted of a crime after being freed by ICE. The total number of new crimes for which these aliens were convicted after ICE released them was 2,560.

These 2,560 new crimes by aliens ICE released instead of deported in 2014 include: 298 dangerous drug offenses, 185 assaults, 40 weapons offenses, 28 sex offenses, 10 sex assaults, four kidnappings, two arsons, and one homicide. There were 1,044 traffic offenses included in the list.

What crimes? Are we talking about smoking pot here? At least "homicide-related" is an obviously bad (if somewhat ambiguous) category.

If 1200 releasees from amongst our estimate of 100-200k between 2010-2015 (<2% in other words) were found guilty of smoking pot or public urination, we'd hardly be talking about an existential threat to your great nation! And even the other four hundred, the serious/violent offenders might be a no higher percentage than the norm for existing citizens.

Like I say, this is just an outsider's first impression, but on first blush those numbers do not seem scary. If they are at all responsible for Trump, it looks like the fear-mongering/ridiculous sensationalism of sources such as you are promoting might be to blame ;)

If 124 have been convicted between 2010-2016, and if 30,000 were released in 2014 alone (bringing the total release to a guestimated 180,000) the murder rate would be 1 in 1,451, which would be %.06, while the murder rate in Detroit is %.04. In other words, you'd be at very little higher risk of being murdered living in a community with nothing but ICE releases than living in Detroit.

As far as I'm concerned it doesn't really matter whether they're committing "serious" crimes or minor disorderly persons offenses.

If you're here illegally to begin with, and the best you've got is to make a public nuisance of yourself, we really don't need you.

That kind of stuff you have to accept from citizens.

It would be cool if you didn't have to deal with it at all, but there's always going to be some fraction of any population which acts up.

But when you show up somewhere illegally with your hat essentially in your hand you really should be on your best behavior.

If someone crashed your wedding and then pissed on your cake, started a fist fight with the father of the bride, and was selling marijuana to your minor nieces and nephews I'm willing to bet you wouldn't be nearly as accepting of the intruder's minor crimes as you seem to be proposing Americans should be of our illegal aliens.

The final sentence in your contrapuntal is embarrassingly far-fetched and crudely constructed. Also, perhaps the immigrants are substantially more likely to be arrested and charged due to, I don't know, police profiling and economic status?

Well that, and the fact that they're committing arrestable offenses.

Now, don't misunderstand me here, I'm not suggesting that illegal aliens are the ONLY ones committing arrestable offenses.

Citizens, both natural born and naturalized, and legal immigrants of all sizes, shapes, colors, and nationalities commit their share of crimes.

But I accept that due to the fact that they actually belong here they're our problem to deal with.

If, however, your very presence in this country is a criminal act and you compound that by committing further criminal acts once you're here I've got no use for you.

Not to mention the First Lady would be an Slovenian immigrant with a history of posing nude. And the White House interior would look like Liberace was the Interior Decorator! What's not to love about that?

I understand all that, but I can't excuse it. We still have to think hard about what is good for our country--all the moreso when it is in deep trouble. And this buffoon ain't the answer. His tough-guy posturing may gull the gullible, but he would make a weak President.

There is no excuse for refusing to think, just for the satisfaction of feeling aggrieved. That sort of unpatriotic dimwittedness is for leftists--not for true Americans.
