Good for him.

Marco Rubio has told his supporters in Ohio they should make a tactical decision and vote for the state’s governor, John Kasich. Mr Rubio’s campaign also urged Mr Kasich’s supporters in Florida to likewise vote for him...

Both Mr Rubio and Mr Kasich are under intense pressure from those opposed to Donald Trump to withdraw from the race to give Texas senator Ted Cruz a clear run at beating him...“

John Kasich is the one candidate in Ohio that can beat Donald Trump,” Mr Conant said on CNN.
“That’s stating the obvious. So if you're a Republican primary voter in Ohio and you don't want Donald Trump to be the nominee, John Kasich is your best bet.”

He also emphasised that Republican voters in Florida who do not want Trump to be the nominee need to vote for Mr Rubio. “If you want to defeat Mr Donald Trump here in Florida, where there's 99 delegates at stake, you need to vote for Marco Rubio,” he said. “He’s the only one with a mathematical shot.”

I'm a Rubio fan. Have been for years. But he needs to win Florida, and then drop out. Kasich needs to win Ohio, and then drop out. We will see if either is able to do so.

My bet is that Rubio might, and Kasich won't.

Which shadowy monied backer promised Rubio they would back him for his next political scheme? Yes, it's rhetorical. It's also still very, very likely.

Kasich was supposed to reciprocate in FL, but this is Kasich.

Rubio is looking at likely being a future car salesman OK, he needs to work fast if he is going to do better.

I hope they listen to him.

I'd rather see Kasich or Rubio rather than either Trump or Cruz, but the main goal has to be to stop the con man from fooling any more Republican voters.

It is time for Rubio to exit, that is becoming more and more clear.

Rubio needs to go, he has no shot even if he somehow managed a miracle and won Florida.

Tim-

Perhaps not, but having more candidates still in the race makes it less likely that Trump can win the nomination outright.

That sounds like Kasich. I don't know if there is a way for the party to **** him, but I hope they are exploring it.

Yeah, but he's the only one with a (very small) shot of beating Trump in Florida and denying him those 99 delegates. He needs to stay in at least through that.

Wasn't Rubio useful when he wrastled in the mud with Trump? Did someone realize those forays hurt Rubio and Trump?

Wow. Politically juvenile.

Nope. Christie too. You don't get to enjoy the benefits provided by party membership if you are going to screw over the group. Supporting Trump in this election is, for elected Republicans or conservative leaders, an irrevocable act.
You didn't have to tell me twice you were conservative...er, highly ideological.

You wouldn't think that "wrastling" in the mud would help any candidate, but it must. If it didn't, they wouldn't do it.

I am indeed highly ideological. Much preferable to the (IMO) moral cretinism of being highly partisan.

The Republican party is stabbing itself in the Heart by doing this. And it is very interesting to watch people on both sides. Perhaps the power in the party believes that the voters really are unintelligent. I personally do not. And I believe that most of them will be able to see that the party is doing everything they can to deny them their choice as the voters in the primary. The logic of it is very simple at this point Kasich can't win. Rubio can't win. And making these deals to keep someone else from winning is dirty politics. Sure, it's not against the rules but I don't know that the party has actually counted the cost of the action that they are taking here. They would be better off surviving four or even eight years with someone that they don't like than alienating about 80% of the people in the country one way or another.

As long a Kasich and Rubio are taking delegates away from Trump and Cruz (especially Cruz)... they should stay in the race.

Grasping at straws, Mr. Rubio, grasping at straws.

Great news this should put Kasich over the top, hopefully they can both win and then drop out and Cruz can grab up all of both thier supporters

They aren't though nearly all the remaining states are winner take all or winner take most

That's my hope... But... Kasich won't (I think)
