Heartbreaking! Young woman almost cries at the wedding after her muslim parents sold her – SUPPORT ISRAEL

I would rather that the US did not deal, at all, with- much less support- theocracies like Isreal. I would prefer that we encouraged secularism as much as we pretend to encourage democracy. We are constantly getting into trouble by making it our policy to treat all religious beliefs as if they were, without question, good for people, even when they are in conflict with the realities upon which people rely for survival. Objectively, the Abrahamic tradition of treating women as property was not good for this country and isn't good for others.

It is because we have such a strong vein of crazy christianity in America that we must force ourselves to tolerate the other crazies, at home and elsewhere. The politicians know this and constantly ride the fence, falsely reminding us all of the politically correct position that "Islam is peace", etc., an objectively false claim by any casual reading of the text they call holy or their actions toward each other. The same can be said of all the major religions and their various sects. Calling religion a path to peace is hyperbolic denial.
