As much as some criticize radical Islamic terrorists, there isn't a religion in the world that has anything on US Christians. In the name of Christianity, we have killed / slaughtered Indians, enslaved / tortured Blacks and have ultimately created the greatest terror organization in the world (US Military).... Before we criticize the religion of Islam, perhaps we should take a look in the mirror.....We aren't so peaceful ourselves....
 
It would be wise of you to include an article from "Mainstream Media" as breaking news of some degree as a source for opening a thread in this area of the forums. Just friendly advice.

WE weren't ****ing born when Indians were slaughtered and blacks were bought and sold like farm animals. Our grandparents weren't even born yet.

Should you be held accountable for a child molestation perpetrated by someone in your country 200 years ago?

The US military wasn't formed in the name of Christianity - nor does it serve the purpose of upholding Christian views and values.

The US military slowly grew over the years to meet demands of the nation itself, for its people - and only in the 20th century was the US ever seen as a 'world power' during which time people began to look to US leadership AS a world leader - in part - because it WASN'T directly (physically) involved in many conflicts.

In essence: we were a respectable 3rd party. An outsider that drummed it owns beat, guided by different views and values.

So . . . quit the dramatics and get level-headed and real.

Apparently you are ignorant of certain facts.

The US military does not attack or kill anyone, anywhere by itself. It is under the control of the civilian government.

The US military are lawful combatants. Terrorist are not.

The US military tries vary hard to minimize collateral damage (killing civilians). Terrorist organizations intentionally target civilians.

The US military is governed by the Laws of War established under the Geneva Conventions and are subject to prosecution for violating them. Terrorist are not.

Yes, the thought of facing the US military does instill fear into some. This is a good thing as it keeps some nations from attacking the US, it's allies or it's interests, from misbehaving and helps us get what we want at negotiations.

That was ages ago. When Christianity was a young ignorant religion, much like the young Islam is now. Islam will eventually mature and purge it's religion of extremist. Maybe take a another century for them to catch up.

FYI, the US army is not Christian. It's fooking secular dude. In the military, your country is your God.

Wasn't most of the new testament written closer to 100 AD? Any, Christianity didn't really start to truly take off until Constantine made it the official roman religion in the early 4th century. Mohammed started his rampage in the mid/mid-late 7th Century. So....

Islam is about 1600 years old and Christianity is just a little older.

That does not mean by any means that Islam is a young religion.

The difference is the intelligence level of the followers and their willingness to kill other human beings.

Now hopefully you understand that doing something in the name of , does not by default constitute being authorized by that in the name of which one does.

Actually, no. The Christian Faith had a Reformation, in the early 16th Century that greatly redefined the religion and the impact is still seen today. Islam, has never had this. And since that was 500 years ago, Christianity is 300 years older... that means Islam is 200 year over due for a like event that helps modernize, moderate and solidify the religion.

If you're gonna go there, with parallels that is.

The US does not fight in the name of God - there are no screaming battle cries using His name.

OTOH, **** radical Islam - the faster we send them to Hell, the better.

My point, Islam has yet to go through the reform that Christianity has. Why this upsets you is beyond me.
