Government urging 9 Million green card holders to naturalize before 2016 election

actually, a lot of them do. they kind of get treated like second class citizens, though. i don't like that.

basically, the jobs are the draw, and those jobs exist because corporations prefer to hire labor from the shadow economy because it's cheaper. you could build a wall to the moon, and it wouldn't solve the problem if there are jobs here for them. my preferred solution would be to let everyone who is here stay, and then require that every job from dishwasher to CEO go through everify. then if employers break the law anyway, they get a crushing fine even if they hired through a subcontractor. i'm also not against a compromise system of immigration that is more like Ellis Island.

We never should have instituted the quotas... the 1950s have really messed with this country in the past 70 years.

The idea behind immigration should be bringing in people who help america. Letting them go on welfare does not do that. No one on a greed card should be allowed food stamps. Even naturalized citizens should have to wait 10 years before they can become SNAPPERS.

American Indians are not "native" to America. They came here from somewhere else too. They were here first, before European settlers, but are not indigenous.

HAHAHA. Now that's pathetic. Nobody said or even implied that. Lots of legal immigrants work hard. But it should be 100%. We should not let greed card holders get any kind of welfare.

Wrong. Wanting your 'cultural dominate' upheld means that you're hating on every immigrant who isn't a carbon copy of you.

If the GOP stays on the dead end road that it's headed down in about 30 years when the massive demographic change that's coming at it like a tidal wave hits it will be reduced to a minor, regional party.
