Is this country still called the most powerful in the World? We can’t even start solving our internal problems Did you know that if the Chinese govt asked their people to pay their national debt for them, it would cost less than a cent for a person? If our government did the same, we would have to pay 1.5 average yearly income for 1 citizen

I would hazard to guess that the average Joe Chinaman has plenty of problems of his own completely unrelated to national debt.

And yes, the United States is still, far and away, the most powerful country on Earth.

And if we listened to the right, who says we should run the govt budget the way families run their budget......

our debt would multiply because private debt is several times greater than public debt.

Power is primarily measured economically and China is the world's largest economy. They wield influence through trade. They buy world-wide resources we used to influence, they sell to all who will buy, including us. Their military is shiny brand new. New ships, new planes, new tanks. When they draw a line, they back it up.

America isn't yet powerless, but we are well on our way. Obama is slashing the military. Force levels cut, experienced battle-hardened troops furloughed, weapons systems scrapped. One has only to look at Syria kick sand in Obama's skinny face to see how he's squandered America's power. Watch Russia take land by force, while we ignore our treaty obligation to prevent it.

But, it's not just Obama. The significant majority voted for this devolution of power. Our own fellow citizens freely elected to lay down our arms and surrender. Openly advocate shutting down industries and army alike. Now we wait for the crash and the Muslim nukes which are sure to arrive. Wait for the finger-pointing and denials of liberals. "We never said to disarm," they will protest. "It was those bad old Republican's."

The debt is certainly too high, but it can still be managed. That might change, if we have another bubble pop.

You believe that Obama should have armed ISIS? :rofl

Well, it's less and less likely that big business will as more and more US corporations - excuse me, corporate citizens - find ways of avoiding taxes all together such as Walgreens.

You are the only one who advocates arming ISIS. Apparently, you liberals have armed ISIS, because they now wield U.S. weapons left unguarded in Iraq by Mr. Obama.

No, what I was referring to was the president stating that Assad must go, yet he remains.

This is Syrian (and Russian) sand kicked in Obama's face.

I believe controlling us all through some form of debt slavery is the ultimate goal of the banks/billionaires that control our political system. Both sides are in on it, and our future depends on how long it takes you all to wake up.

You heard wrong. Chinese national debt is over 5 trillion dollars. China Debt Clock :: National Debt of China
And the latest population figure I have for them is 1.35 billion.
That's roughly $3,700.00 per person.
Average URBAN income: $3,912.00 ( http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/business/2013-01/18/content_16137453.htm )

US national debt seems to be around 17 trillion. U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time
Population of the USA seems to be around 300 million.
That's about $56,000 per person.
Average income is about $42,000 per person.

The ratios of (average debt per person) to (average annual income) isn't very much different and if you take rural average pay into consideration for China, we may be better off than they are.

So you want ISIS in charge of Syria?

Are you saying that if we decreased spending, our debt would increase faster?

On whom does the burden of corporate taxation fall?

That's the second time you've worded your liberal desire in the form of a question? Are you practicing for Jeopardy?

Obama pushes conservatives around, uses the enforcement arms of government to attack them, but aids America's enemies?

It was foolish to call for Assad's downfall, but once spoken, it must be followed-up. Virtually every move by this president degrades U.S. standing and advances Muslim objectives.

You ask what I want? I want to be free in America back at #1. I want Muslims to stop developing nukes and to stop attacking. I want Israel permanently safe, secure and free in their homeland. I want a president to pursue and accomplish those goals.

On whom does the burden of corporate taxation fall?

It falls on consumers. It's another non-progressive consumption tax, for all intents and purposes. And all the while that it is making it more difficult for businesses to compete, it drives up prices for American consumers who are the ones that ultimately foot the bill. It's a double whammy on the economy and on the pockets of the average American. But for some reason, the "progressives" aren't smart enough to see this and constantly whine that we need more corporate income taxation. They remind me of this....

Oh, you want Assad in power. Why didn't you just say that?

Liberals whine about corporations not being people so they think when you tax them, you're taxing something that isn't people. The burden of taxation always falls on a person no matter what type of legal entity is taxed. So, in a corporations case its either their customers, their owners, their employees, their suppliers, their vendors, whatever. The true answer is that economists aren't sure. As you indicated, some say its the consumers, but others say its split between owners and employees - or capital and labor. They tend to disagree on the percentages.

The point being that there is no such thing as taxing a corporation without 100% of the burden falling on people. I honestly think people don't know that.

Its sort of a side point anyway when you're talking about debts and budgets. Its not a tax problem its a spending problem. The sooner everyone gets on the same page with regards to that simple fact, the better.

You liberals are in charge, one assumes you've made things exactly the way you want them?

Oh, I see, even when there are no good choices, you are going to attack Obama.

It's obvious that you start with "I don't like Obama." and work backwards from there.

You think the right wants to decrease spending?

Why don't you just tell me "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan"?

I didn't say that. And you didn't answer my question.

No matter where the increase in taxes lands, ultimately it is always going to fall in the consumer's lap. Businesses will only absorb so much increase in cost without increasing prices in order to stay competitive. Once that threshold is reached, prices increase. There really is no way around it.
