Jim Garrow has helped to rescue over 35,000 infants from China and was a Nobel Peace Prize Nominee
in 2009. His post on facebook Sunday is quite startling:

"I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new "litmus test" in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks. "The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not". Those who will not are being removed."

Anonymous hearsay is not exactly the stuff for taking action. This sounds exactly like Reid's assertion that Romney paid no FIT for ten years, based on hearsay from an anonymous "informed source". Rumor, no matter how plausable, is still just rumor. The OP belongs in a conspiracy theory thread, IMHO.

Conspiracy Theories ho!

This silliness has been going around for years. I think it stems from the concept of refusing to follow unlawful orders, I remember an example used was firing on American citizens, when it was clearly not a lawful order, and when it was. I remember hearing this when Clinton was in office from my far right wing friends and relatives (Waco related).

Off-putting. No doubt about it. But, think about it. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that our military would be ordered to fire on American citizens. I can't think of why any military person would say they wouldn't ever fire on them if the circumstances stood the test.

There are certain instances that firing on Americans would be perfectly legitimate.

The Obama administration has publicly admitted to having ordered someone to fire upon and kill an American citizen in Yemen. Why make up this kind of conspiracy nonsense when the truth is plenty damning enough?

Was the citizen a threat to fellow citizens or military members, or a wanted felon fugative of the US? If yes, then he was a legitimate target. If not, not so much.

We don't know if he was a threat or not, because he was never put on trial and administration has not even bothered to release the justification for why he was killed.

Fleeing felons or people shooting at you dont necissarly have to go to trial to get shot. I rember reading about a US citizen getting droned (new verb) but I dont remember the exact details.

The man was named Al-awlaki and he was 'droned" in Yemen.

Thanks, I looked it up. If I was a young grunt in the field and my CO told me to kill the guy, I dont think my conscience woudl bother me at all.

Obama's agenda cannot go forward with armed American citizens who are willing to die on their doorsteps to keep their guns.

You can believe it has been a blow to Obama for so many sheriffs to have now come forward and state that they are not going to take guns away from Americans.

Obama is so arrogant and ignorant, he probably thinks that, if ordered by him, American soldiers will shoot at their families. Ain't gonna happen, Obama. Your move.

Yea, then comes the FEMA camps...

Excellent point! Without gun confiscation, Obama might as well move Michelle and the kids into those.

Damn Republican presidents.

Kent State was a tragic failure of the educational system. You would think somebody would have told these kids not to throw rocks at people with guns;
it would have been an intellectual step up if they had brought knives to that gunfight. Other than that, it was classic class warfare of the kind the progressives love: the privileged university students with their draft exemptions and family money defeated by the lesser-privileged proletariat.

Wasnt the govoner of Ohio Republican too? I dont know why that makes a difference, I had just never thought about it before.

I don't remember the governor's political affiliation either. I do remember Michener's (Kent State: What Happened and Why) observation of the times that "You've gotta remember that the kid out there throwing rocks is having a pretty good time." It's a shame that the students were so lacking in common sense.

Kent State was a sad event. I dont think it even belongs in a discussion about American Military killing American Citizens. As far as I know no one has ever argued it was a justified shooting.
