BUT, how many more would be in the same boat without the SS being automatically deducted? My guess is millions. Many would not save a dime unless it is done for them.

Then they should die. I just don't buy into the idea of "these people are too stupid to take care of themselves". Okay, then it's evolution in action. Maybe we'll pass on some better genes to the next generation if the people who are too stupid or too lazy are just left to suffer the consequences of their own irresponsibility. The idea that I'm supposed to feel sorry for people with no education, no job skills, who gamed the system their entire lives by not paying income tax, and now they want money from me?

Exactly correct... and it is the very reason that SS and all govt programs are doomed to failure, and private sector solutions succeed. Govt works off of a ratio of paying in... to taking out. Private sector does not.... it works just as well with 1.... or millions.
