I did read it, but there was nothing I could say about it that hadn't already been said... So I just pointed out how there hadn't been anyone on the left that had come out in support of the article, which in itself constitutes a silent opinion.
If you want my opinion, just look at the first few pages and see which posts I thanked.

I like how people just laughed at the "CO2 makes you fat" article without even reading it. Here's a tip: Read more than the headline. Read more than the article, even, before dismissing something.
"It would be inexcusably egocentric to suggest that we are alone in the universe."
-Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

- Colonel Paul YinglingNobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.
Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.
All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

While generally a good idea, it's impractical to expect everyone to do that. Iirc Glenn Beck would say his outrageous claims, and then tell people to "don't believe me, just do your homoework and [hope] you find out for yourself."
What's a silent opinion?
For me, the article confirmed what we see everyday. The GOP allows industry to dictate their positions on issues related to health and science. They live comfortable lives and are far removed from the cancer clusters and climate change.
How about you?
Some people do that, dont discount it. I have listened to beck for a while and while he does make some outrageous predictions about the future at times, if you really "do your homework" as he says, you will find the things he says about whats going on in the present are normaly spot on. Also a very large part of his more hardcore fan base, which is pretty large, "do their homework" on the things he says.
