This is my first post here. I was a regular for a while at yahoo answers (some what similar to this site). They have a system of "report abuse" which any one is allowed to use. What makes this lousy is that any user with a difference of opinion uses it just once and your question or answer is removed without any moderator first reading it and clearing it as an abuse. Ofcourse you get stalkers with whom you have disagreed and they just keep picking on you till you give up. Yes you can "apeal". Often the moderators are too busy to read.

My debate question is do you think this is plain curtailing of freedom of speech by Yahoo ?
Is Debate Politics Forum as fascist as the yahoo answer website or their is more openness.

More detail if you are interested. Its my first post here. In yahoo i ended up touching the raw nerves of the anti- adoption activist only because i am pro adoption and offer websites and information to people wanting to adopt and the site leans in favour of anti- adoption.

No, we're not fascist here. (Well, except for me. But the others keep me on a short leash.) When posts are reported to the Moderator Team, we examine them before any action is taken and in most cases issue warnings and/or infractions without removing the offending content.

We only remove content in the case of posts which would expose us to legal liability, or which are gross violations of our community standards.

As far as touching raw nerves goes... we tolerate a lot of different kinds of people, with a lot of different kinds of opinions. You're going to piss some of them off, and some of them are going to piss you off. But as long as everyone remembers their manners, their ability to express their opinions is protected here.

1)Adoptive folks are baby stealers from third world countries- They take advantage of a mother in distress.2) They are accused of buying children (cost involved during adoption towards the adoption agency 3) They(Adoptive parents) are selfish people who go for it after facing infertility and donot have the childs best interest who would be better off with natural parents 4) Adoption agencies and AP's manipulate birth mothers to part with their babies(Domestic). 5) Because of those illegal adoptions - like in Guatamala and child abuse reported after adoption all Adoptions should stop and all Adoptive parents could be monsters. Adoptive parents who faced "infertility" are likely to be mentally unstable.

Then you have some Adoptees with terrible experience or facing Identity crisis lashing out on Adoptive families.

Birth mothers(Domestic adoption) that regret their decision and want to reunite with their child and feel hatred towards the Adoptive parents.

The list of reasons given by the anti-adoption group is endless.

Like some pro- adoption user said, you have anti disabled people, anti gay, anti-abortion, anti- jews, Anti- biracial, anti- Islam, anti- idolatory......the list is endless. We are just another group that has to face criticism and hate too.

Ah-ha, thank you. I couldn't figure out why a person would begrudge people who provide love and care for a child in need. I suppose, just like everything else, people have personal prejudices and emotional responses to issues and glom on to any negative to justify it. Typical "throw the baby out with the bath water" (literally!) response.

In my experience, Yahoo Answers is generally a conglomeration of the stupidest creatures that are still capable of operating computers. I always get a kick out of skimming through and reading some of the questions and answers.
