This country has a major problem when people think it is wrong for a candidate not to wear a flag pin. Many Conservatives will tell you that they love America, but do they? Conservatives have long been against protecting the environment and in favor of the corporate right to trash the large piece of land we call America. Conservatives also are opponents of social programs to help the American poor and are in favor of Wars that kill Americans.

I do not love America. Based on the last 8 years it is impossible to love America. My love for America is not unconditional. It is based on how the American government acts. George W. Bush has made it impossible to love America.

The American flag is consecrated as a sacred idol for so many people, but why? Is it not just a symbol? Is it not just paint on cloth?

I hope someone will answer of few of these questions!

On a debate forum, perhaps you should spend less time telling people what they think, and more time debating what they've said they support. Conservatism is not inherently pro-war, I fear you may have conservatives confused with neo-conservatives.

No one said you had to, however if you like someplace better...

Do not confuse your countrymen with their government, governments change, can be set right, and can be overthrown.

We right now are following the liberal model. That is why we have chinese oil rigs and no American ones 45 miles off the coast of FL.


Which would you prefer, an American one or a chinese one.



Conservatives believe the roll of government to be limited and are against the liberal created handout class.


So one man makes you not love your country? Which country would you prefer to live in and why have you not made preparations?



So many have fought and died under that flag so you can enjoy bashing your country.


Perhaps that is part of the reason?

As one who is VERY liberal, the only source of pride in your country is to be found in the government. As a conservative, current government administration is the last aspect of our nation that I would look for sources of pride.

I was indeed describing Neo Conservatives in my original post. But I have yet to meet a Conservative that is not a Neo Conservative on this forum. I don't understand why anyone would die for a flag. But I thank you for your responses.
