Second, more to the point I'd like to make, I am totally knocked over by the outright audacity displayed by somebody who would burn the American flag in one hand, all the while relying on their constitutional rights to "protect" them; when the flag itself, for all intensive purposes, represents the Constitution & Bill of Rights.
Our Constitution and inherent Bill of Rights is really what makes this nation the greatest on earth.
The American flag is the banner that represents this truly great "nation".
Please don't burn the flag.

| Exactly. I love the fact that the only reason someone in the US is free to burn the Flag is because of the Freedom that the flag represents.
The irony goes both ways though. The only way to protect the flag from getting burned is to betray the Liberty it represents. It breaks my heart to think that people would keep people from destroying the symbol of Liberty by destroying the real thing.
If our nation made it illegal to say anything bad about Freedom of Speech, I wouldn't know whether to laugh for the irony or cry for the shame. |

To me it represents, Freedom, Strength and Courage.
Just because some men in the Supreme Court said its ok to burn my Countrys flag, it doesn't really mean $HIT to me.
I have no problem kicking someones A$$ if I see them burning MY Countrys flag.

MY Countrys Flag is sacred to me.

Current Mood: | Re: Flag Burning I find flag burning to be repugnant. I see someone burning a flag, it makes me want to kick the sh!t out of them. The flag represents a country I love and freedoms that I cherish.
That said, I find surpressing those cherished freedoms to be even more repugnant than burning a symbolic piece of cloth. I might want to fight you if you burn a flag, but I'll also fight for your right to do so.
I've always said the day they ban flag burning is the day I burn one. Because on that day, the flag would no longer represent what I love and cherish.
