False premise. I'm not the one bitching about how my country needs to stay out of affairs. I think its perfectly fine to comment on international affairs.

Japanese government is set up in a way to ensure, more or less, that the liberal democrat party wins always (keep in mind, outside the US "liberal" refers to free market, the liberal democrat party is center right).

There's no false premise here and I think you've missed the plot entirely. Commenting on international affairs is one thing, but to pass legislation in the form of "non-binding resolution" against another nation that has nothing to do with your national interest is foolhardy and arrogant at best ! You should learn the difference !

And just because you have unresolved issues regarding your own crimes doesn't mean you look for fault in others.

McTojo - Martin Luther King was a complex man (like any of us, we're all complex). He had his personal faults (which I think are broadly acknowledged) but on balance his greatness as a civil rights leader trumps any personal issues. I know it doesn't matter to you but I regard him as a great man who did great things and I do find any attack on him to be highly offensive. I'm an Anglo-Irish Australian, not that it matters, but I say that to point out that his message of freedom resounds around the world and down the ages.

As for the apology to the so-called "comfort women", women who were forced into prostitution for the military forces of Imperial Japan during the 1930s and 1940s - it wouldn't take much for the current government of Japan to offer an apology for the behaviour of previous militaristic governments. However I know it won't be forthcoming. My own federal government has a Prime Minister who refuses to say "sorry" for what our aboriginals (think Ainu in Japan) call the invasion and occupation of Australia so I won't throw stones.

But I will say that I really hope that contemporary Japan repudiates the values and behaviours of the militarism that saw Japan's invasion and occupation of much of South-East Asia during the 1930s and 1940s. No-one's rubbing your country's collective nose in it but you know getting acknowledgement of the re-writing of history (especially in school texts) is difficult.

Now feel free to flog my country, we have much to atone for as well but in terms of what other countries have achieved in plumbing the depths of human depravity I think we're definitely lagging.
