In and Out Burger

Pretty sure I read about a month ago that they would consider it if they could find one good enough eatin.

Not Yet.

In and Out is pretty perfect the way that it is... streamlined and that is what people like.

Cheese Burger
Hamburger
Fries
Shakes
Soda

DONE.

You gotta stay current, if they can find a veggie burger worth their name they should add it.

Dont hold your breath waiting though.

They are doing just fine... no need to mess with a winning style.

Why don't those lazy-ass petition signers just start their own veggie-burger fast food restaurant?

whats wrong with more choices? doesn't hurt to let your voice be heard.

Why not? Ought to be a no-brainier. Ever had a portabello burger? With teriyaki, it's delicious. I'm not vegan.

thank you. Why are people so afraid of more choices? ya don't have to order it.

In my next life, MV , Im going to be a defense attorney, a vegan and an avid composter-recycler. Living in SanDiego. ;)

It is nice to find you apparently doing fine.....

:2wave:

I find it instructive that there is not a national chain of veggie burger purveyors (unless you count McDonalds).

i wouldn't mind a veggie burger fast food joint. i'd probably go there regularly if it was significantly less 550 calories a burger. it's not going to be one of the major chains, though, unless an upstart enters the market.

If there is a market for it and they can make money from it then it would be good business.
In-N-Out Burger has about 320 locations and sells what works out to be well over 100 million burgers a year. 18k people on a petition I don't know would be significant in the big picture for them to make this business change.
I guess they could try a test market of it but what the cost of doing that would be I have no idea.

I'm always intrigued at the number of posters who tee up disagreement with any topic as "being afraid of" it. Right up there with "being outraged by" it.

Also, are petitions this generation's idea of taking action?

Full disclosure: I've never had an In & Out burger, but I love a good homemade burger. Also, salmon burgers rule!

Personally I think its silly for restaurants to try and make veggie versions of meat dishes. The one excellent cuisine if you want to go vegetarian is Indian, they have been doing it for a long time and its delicious without having to pose as an illusion of meat. I would sometimes go to an Indian restaurant and eat just their vegetarian dishes when Im in the mood for it.

It is more an issue of not having someone in the group/family nixing the group going to your place because there is nothing much for them to eat. Now maybe if you are a fastfood burger outfit you dont care about vegetarians, but then again maybe you do, depending upon market research.

The above post does not change my opinion...... which is of course NOT informed by market research, nor a deck or Torat cards..... you dont want to be basically a California burger company giving the finger to vegetarians, not long term you dont. This grove needs to be moved to, not just because of the numbers, but because entire cultural groups dont eat meat.

In Looney California.

Its a 'burger' joint. Why dont those militant vegans start a "Down and Out Tofu and Black Bean Patty Drive Thru" of their very own?

Same here. I go regularly to an Indian vegetarian restaurant. The dishes don't pretend to be meat. A burger made of vegetables is a contradictio in terminis.

If I want a great Italian spaghetti, should I insist that the Chinese take-out place down the street start making it?

Should people insist that Chick Fil-A start selling Chinese food?

Look, if you want a great vegetarian meal, either make it yourself, or go to a place that specializes in vegetarian cuisine.

I don't know why anyone would expect a chain that's specialized in nothing but meat products to be able to just whip out a delicious FAKE-meat product.

Not to mention what would the added expense be for the chains? You gonna accept that your bean/tofu/mushroom "burger" gets cooked right alongside the beef burgers?
Probably not are you? You're gonna demand a whole separate unit for the meat-less product. Right?
