I just read this type of cheese is sold in East India grocery stores and fries up like meat, as it does not melt. Has anyone eaten this cheese?

i haven't tried it, but man, this looks good :

You can do the same with good, fresh queso blanco, and it's easier to find. Take a block, slice strips off about...half and inch thick, and pan fry it...it's like frying an egg.

Delicious.

I did on several occasions before and it's mighty delicious. It was shallow-fried in olive oil with basil leaves added at the very end. 10/10

Fry it, add some lemon juice and mint and add it to a tossed salad. It is beyond delicious.

I have during a food trip through Europe (I had it in Greece).
No bad,but a little too salty for my taste

Ooooh yes. It's more well-known in Europe; I never saw it in America, though I'm sure it's around. I just didn't know to look.

Fry it with some chorizo and holy ****.

I found it at Kroger yesterday. Sliced off two pieces slightly less than a quarter inch and fried them in olive oil over a low-medium heat until each side was browned and slightly crisp. very good, nice texture. Do not add salt. Very good as a snack. You could put anything on it but I will eat it plain. Try it!!

It's very good, although quite salty. Nice with a Greek salad and a bowl of ice-cold gazpacho on a scorching hot day like today in S. Spain.
