Tandoori Chicken

....and mushy peas.

But they do like Indian.

So do I. Here is my method for beer battered fish and chips.

find a large deep pan and put 4" of cooking oil in it. Peel and cut a couple of Idaho potatoes into French fries. Put them in the oil when it is heated. Now make some home made tartar sauce (better than malt vinegar in my opinion.)

Sorry, I've never measured anything but the ingredients go into a small blender or food processor.

dill pickle
capers
onion
garlic
lemon juice
salt, pepper
mayonnaise

Mix it up and spread some on the plates

Make a batter with
AP flour
powdered garlic
salt
pepper
beer or ale
to the consistency of pancake batter

Take cod filets and season them with salt, pepper and lemon juice.

When the fries are done, dredge the filets in the batter and put them in the oil. Turn down the heat because you want to cook the fish before the batter becomes over cooked

Put the finished filets on the tartar sauce and put the fries (chips) on the side. Any left over tartar sauce makes a great dip for the fries. Not a low calorie dish!! Even a Brit would enjoy it, I think.

This Brit would and will. The only thing that I would add is to cook the fries in the Belgian manner.
