Ever since the transfat purge and the decision to leave beef fat...meh...who needs em.
 
They're a franchise, though.

so I guess corporate decides to open various locations - but people can also franchise in. So . . . who's made the bad business decisions here? The franchisers or the corp?

Way back then when I worked for McDonalds, my job was opening up new stores. I worked for the corporation, not a franchise. The corp would then sell the stores to franchisees after the opening.

That policy may have changed in later years though, that was nearly 30 years ago.

It was almost a good job, the pay sucked, but it was a lot more fun than just working in the same store doing the same thing every day. Two years later, after snagging a job as a supervisor in a manufacturing plant, I was making nearly double what I did at McD's (and still thought I was underpaid - go figure).
