I stopped at the local "healthy" grocery store on the way into the office to pick up some apples to snack on. They had one bin that wasn't marked for price but the apples has "Pacific Rose" stickers. I looked around for a price and didn't see anything but all the other apples were right around $1 a pound so I figured these must be in that ballpark. At worst they might be twice that (I usually get "Honeycrisps" for about $2/lb. Anyway, I grabbed 4 apples and proceeded to the checkout where I discovered that my 4 apples would come to $4.72!

Anyway, they're pretty good apples with kind of a buttery taste. Not too sweet and good sized with a nice crunch. I'm not really convinced that they're worth $5/lb (or whatever I ended up paying) but not a bad apple at all!

From my experience Ive found the Fuji apples to be the sweetest. You ought to try them if they are available. :D

I like Fuji's and Gala's but the ones they had this morning were small.

Since I posted this I looked up this particular apple and it seems to be some designer thing from New Zealand.

Are you sure they weren't labeled "Pacific Road Apples"?

They weren't road apples!!!:censored

Dunno, we could get my cousin to eat anything and that "buttery taste" sounds familiar...
