I'm experimenting with this stuff right now. There's nothing to making it. Just simple syrup and fruit juice. Stick it in the freezer and mash it up a few times as it freezes. The trick seems to be in the ratio of fruit juice to syrup and, since I'm using a sugar substitute, which sweetener to use.

This batch is traditional lemon flavor with Splenda. I squeezed up 10 lemons for a little more than 3 cups of juice and was a little under 1:1 for sweetener to water with the syrup. It's been freezing for about 3 hours now and will probably be done in another hour. I can tell already that it's no doubt lemon flavor and I might scale back some more on the sweetener next time around.

I'd really like to try another batch with lime and cherry but I'll have to figure out how to juice a cherry first.

cook them down in a pot with water, throw in some butter and your sweetener at the end would be my guess. It works when you use sugar. I have never tried cooking with splenda because I am, you know, afraid it would cause me to have a seizure and die or something. Just google sugar free cherry syrup recipes until you find one that works for you.
