How to fix Pizza Hut

That's a great theory, but it just doesn't wash. If quality were paramount it wouldn't matter who the place is, they'd need to serve up quality or perish. Mom-and-pops can serve up crap too, and many do, and still survive quite well.

I don't doubt you on PH's crust, but the pan crust is still good.

Is your Domino's experience before or after they changed? I think they got better overall, though their new sauce is a bit too sweet for my taste.

If I had to rate the three major delivery chains it would be 1) Domino's, 2) Pizza Hut, and 3) Papa John's (dead last, I detest their pizza).

We have all seen the pimple popping, butt scratching minimum wage teens making our food right? And that is better than a family run business with grandpa and gramma, mom and dad and their kids running the show?
DOMINOS!!!!!????? Are you starving?! I would eat Digornos frozen before Dominos.

this is pizza....

If you are not in NYC, NJ, and parts of CT, you are probably not eating actual pizza.

Connecticut is known for skim milk and corn starch. Chicago is famous for pizza and murder.

As would I. Since you apparently missed it, my rating was relative to only the three major delivery chains, in keeping with the general theme of the thread. It was not an all-inclusive rating.

I would probably put Pizza Hut ahead of Dominos but youre right, Papa Johns is the worst- its the suckiest sucky suck pizza to date.

Yes, *that* is a proper slice of pizza.

However, I was never a fan of the fold. It mushes the topping together into a cheesy, tomatoey soup-like thing. I prefer to eat it unfolded which is why I like the crispy bottom which keeps it from flopping down when you hold it.

the best pizza i ever ate was shakey's pizza

I used to love Shakey's as a kid.

i have not seen a shakey's since i lived in Houston back in the early to mid 70's.

Shakey's chicken was awesome.

See, the trick is if you like Shakey's is gather up a lot of stem cells and put it next to a Shakey's pizza, thereby making a second Shakey's pizza all for yourself.

Fold is to demonstrate the lack of sagging of the point in a properly cooked pizza. I too prefer no fold

Did Pizza Hut change some recipe for sauce or cheese or something about ten years ago? It used to be not too bad and then the flavor suddenly changed - I think somebody mentioned diesel oil. I haven't eaten there in years.

They claim they have changed nothing. I don't believe them.

Agreed. Best place we had in Syracuse was a place called Cam's, and their pizza was just like this. Had to take a napkin, though, and dab the grease off the top of it, or you'd make a mess. I miss real pizza. We have a couple of places here that are decent, including one on St. Simon's Island, called Sal's. Guy's a boxer from New Jersey and he moved down here and started making pizza. It's pretty close to NY Style, but his slices still aren't foldable. To me, if you can't fold the slice (whether you want to or not), it's not true NY Style pizza.

Real pizza has a layer of oil on it from the cheese and it should be yellowish.

It's the water. You can come close, but you can't get the same out of the NYC area
