Corona and I have no idea what 'type' of beer it is.

Why?

Because I can put a lime in it which makes it taste less like beer.

I don't like (or hate) the taste of beer...I consume it for one reason...to get drunk(er).

That and hard liquor makes me sick.

Corona doesn't tast much like beer to start with.

Here is a list of what has been mentioned in this thread so far:

x Sierra Nevada "Torpedo"
x Modelo
x Imperial Creme Brulee Stout
x Southern Tier Milk Stout
x Fat Tire
x Corona Extra
x Louie's Demise
x Pliny Elder
x Stone IPA
x Dogfish Head IPA
x Thomas Creek Coffee Oatmeal Stout
x Brother Theolonius Belgian Style Abbey Ale
x Wells Banana Bread Beer
x Flying Dog Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout
x Lone Star
x Shiner Bock
x Boulevard Wheat Beer
x Hoegaarden

In Post #1 The Flying Dog Brewing Company is recommended but nothing specific.
In Post #9 I could not make out the name. It had something to do with Belgium Lambic
In Post #13 I couldn't make out the name of the beer in the third picture from the top. I think I have seen that beer in commercials.
In Post #33 Ayinger Brewing company is mentioned but nothing specific
In Post #41 A vague reference is made to Belgium Gold or Belgium White Wheat Ales but no specific brand was mentioned.

Founder's Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale

So youre a teetolarer then?

'tee·to·tal·er [tee-toht-ler, tee-toht-] Show IPA
noun
a person who abstains totally from intoxicating drink.'

Teetotaler | Define Teetotaler at Dictionary.com

I already said I drink this beer...so how can I be a 'teetotaller'?

Do people on this board even know what a dictionary is?

And if you were joking...how about indicating as such?

(Well maybe half joking since me drunk ) I had about 4 cans of Royal Dutch post horn red and some fried peanuts yum

You mentioned liquor makes you sick and the Corona is sort of like the closest non beer so you know I just assumed... :2razz:

No...I used to be quite the Corona with Yagermeister chasers guy...night after night after night after night.

I meant hard, straight booze makes me sick...and I am glad it does, otherwise my liver would be none too thrilled with me.

Back then I drank with purpose and conviction and rapidity.

I can't choose!

My two favorite styles would have to be IPA's and Stouts. Though, I love a good beer no matter the style.

Some of my favorites at the moment would be Terrapin's Hopsecutioner, Sweetwater's LowRYEder IPA, Stone Imperial Russian Stout, Sam Adams Creme Stout, Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro, Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA, Dogfish Head 60, etc, etc.

What's your favorite type and brand of beer?

I can say without contention that the US has now gone into a beer renaissance in the past twenty years, when I was growing up it was just awful with beers like Budweiser, Heineken and Coors dominating the scene with their light lagers that pretty much tasted like piss. At least now we got much better choices and breweries have sprung up all over the place with some good local stuff. I can say US beer is now the best in the world with its varieties and flavors.

I do like stouts because they have the most intense flavor and filling of all types of beer, the others are also good but I will no longer touch light lagers- growing up with those mentioned brands has given me an aversion to any type of light lager now. My brand of choice is Flying Dog- though its kinda tough to get them where I am. ;)

I have lived all over the world, and I like beer that is brewed in Europe, I don't care for American or Asian brews.

I'm not trying to convert anyone, you drink what you like and I'll continue to drink what I like.

BTW: San Miguel makes some decent beer.

Im not trying to convert anyone either, just stating my opinion. Of course I admit that up until the early 90's European beer was superior and I thought Guinness was the best at that time but American brews now are just so varied and so well made that I think they have caught up and surpassed the European brands. Of course, its my opinion. I havent tried a whole lot of beer in South America so Ic ant say Ive tasted them all.

Tried their brew. All I can say is meh, they either make them too sweet or with an aftertaste.

Why is it that when one starts a "beer thread" it aways reverts to snobery?

Who made you King of Taste?
So expressing one's opinion is considered snobbery now?

when doing so in a mocking fashion of others' choice...Definitely YES!

Well, wait. Maybe the more correct term is Juvenial. Yes, I wish to amend my post and replace snobbery with juvenial behavior.

thanks for giving me the opportunity to revise my post.

Eye Roll away...

Juvenial? Trying to teach yourself French?

How is the quoted "D'oh" from PoS even remotely snobbish???

He was reminded that he forgot a hugely popular type of beer from the poll choices.

His D'oh was in response to realizing the mistake.

I can't see how that was snobbery at all. It was self deprecating wasn't it?

As in - damn...how could I have been so stupid as to miss IPA's ????

Anyway, to bring it back to beer, has anyone tried the Sixth Glass from Boulevard brewing? I just picked up a 4 pack and it's pretty good. It's the first Belgium Quad I've ever had. At 10.5%, it'l kick your ass!

I bought two imported beers from the nearby deli:

Lambic beer from Belgium. Very mild fruity, almost sweet taste akin to cherry soda. No aftertaste, probably something ChrisL would like. 7/10. ;)

And this one, it packs a wallop and I cant even remember the taste because I was getting a buzz by the time I finished the can. If you want to get drunk on beer, this is it. 3/10.

Who made this poll, only one kind of ale in the options.
