Homemade Pizza

I make pizza once every other month or so, Thursday was the most recent time. Made 2 as I always do. 1 half cheese half pepperoni, for th kids 1 with pepperoni, ground pork, onions and peppers for the wife and I. Very yummy but we still order from time to time, not as good but less effort.

I love pizza with those California Wonder bell peppers. Especially when they are fresh from the garden.

While homemade pizza is great Ive noticed that it actually costs more to make your own pizza than just buying one at a pizza place. Hasnt stopped me from making my own a few times though.

They had a chef on TV last night who ran a gourmet pizza restaurant. He showed the host some starter he brought back from Italy that was supposedly 200 years old, that is it was invent 200 years ago. He used a brick kiln that ran 500-600 deg F to make his pizza. Some of his pizzas were done in about a minute.

Up until a few weeks ago I had a brick kiln in the back yard. But was teaching my spouse how to operate a dump truck with a snow plow.

No problem though. I saved the fire bricks. I'll build a new one.
