What do you do with leftover thanksgiving food?

Take the turkey skeleton and put it in a slow cooker with water covering adding veggies and let simmer for 6 hours. Toss the skeleton and you have a great broth.
The meat-chop and make fried rice.
Left over bread- cut in to squares, pour a thin coat of butter on a baking pan, toss the bread squares around, sprinkle garlic and oregno, bake for 20 minutes at 250 F - great croutons.

Turkey pie is pretty awesome and tasty! :) My mom makes turkey soup a lot. I'm not crazy about the soup because it's a bit greasy.

That's Fiona - she's our seventh rescue and came to us in a dreadful emaciated condition with lots of skin issues about 6 months ago. Now she's a healthy, beautiful little dog that is full of zest for life and... love.

We love Westies. They are the sweetest, cutest, most fun loving dogs ever. "A Westie will NOT be ignored."

She looks fantastic now, so you must be taking very good care of her! :)

That sounds great. I usually just use the leftover turkey for regular sandwiches, unless there's dressing leftover too, then I have another thanksgiving meal for 2 or 3 more meals.

Pfff... Who needs sandwiches? I just eat the Turkey straight and use the left over gravy as dipping sauce.

I like making turkey sandwiches. I make hot wing sauce using the Frank's Red hot recipe and dip in shredded turkey meat and use left over dinner rolls as the buns.

I usually make bourbon sauce - and we die and go to heavy while gorging on turkey and bourbon leftovers.

I don't cook until the food runs out. . . total vacation.

Pfff.....I'm a girl, thus I have a biological need for bread.
LOL - then I guess men must have a biological need for beer.

(I know I do :) )

I love a nice simple turkey sandwich though. With lettuce and tomato and a little bit of Miracle Whip, a little salt and pepper, YUM!

Yeah, she's really doing well. She was so fragile, we had to be careful how we picked her up, and we could feel all her vertebrae. Turns out she's AKC registered and actually used to be a show dog. Owner died of cancer and I guess she couldn't take care of her brood in the last year or so.

Her little face looks just like a stuffed animal! :) How old is she?

Two things I looooove...

Turkey breast sandwiches on either wheat or sourdough bread with nothing but mayo and salt.

Leftover stuffing & gravy.

Don't tell me that Freudian slips aren't real. :rofl

She's 7, an American (vs. Scottish) Westie - a beautiful little furball - and she loves turkey - especially leftovers! :)

Thanks for you work to help a creature that can't help herself. Good people win one for the cause!! Thanks again.

Eggs have four times as much tryptophan as turkey. So crashing on the couch after turkey food is an excuse we men use to avoid helping clean the table. There! I said it! The secret is out! It is what we are good at. It is what we do.
