Didn't even keep time man. It's crazy what 2 weeks off does to you. I think it was around 18 minutes or so. Terrible. That's the nature of the job though. I have to balance how nasty I get doing Crossfit with how nasty I already am from not showering for 2 weeks and running around the desert. Plus, I'm already so smoked just from training that Crossfit's the last thing on my mind lol.

No time for a work out, today I unloaded 245 12' 2x12 boards from a trailer. Then I dug 14 cubic yards of wet sand and anthracite from a water filter by hand. Repaired a chlorinater and a sodium hydroxide pump. Doing the jobs Americans supposedly won't do every day.

No time for exercise, no walks through the park. No riding my bike or going to the gym. I have a job you see. By the time I clock out and the end of the day I am spent. Im 52 and in beter shape than most 20 somethings.

Re: What did you do for a workout today?

I like this thread and it motivates me to read what others are doing.

Okay yesterday before work I ran 3 miles and hiked 2 miles in steep terrain.

This morning went to my gym with the intention of using the machines ... a man invited me to his 90 minute boot camp class. I just came home and I got my ass kicked. I was good the first 45 minutes and the other participants were very athletic men, a 20 year old female who plays college soccer and and the ninja warrior teaching the class.

The last 15 minutes I felt light headed as he had doing jumping squats with weights. I know I will feel it tomorrow!

I think on Sunday I am going to do yoga in the morning and a sunset hike in the mountains for about 8 miles at leisurely pace and maybe take my SLR.

Through the work week I have about 50+ hours and will just fit in whatever I can in the evening. (short runs of 2 miles or wts and stretching at home).

It's my job to be in shape so don't hate on yourself too much. You'll get there. A good program that I use is do 3 types of runs a week. I do it Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday for a month then switch to other stuff for a month. I run an 2.5 mile interval run on Tuesday. That's usually a 200-300m sprint followed by a 100-150m jog. A 5K on Thursday. Then, 4-5 miles on Saturday. On the Saturday run I go as fast as I would for a 5K for the first 3 miles and then slow down for the last 1 or 2 miles. That program got me an 18:25 on my last physical fitness test which is a 3 mile run.
Just by looking at your post, it looks like you're going for a triathlon type workout. There's something called a "sprint triathlon". I believe its swim 500m, bike a 10K, run a 5K. Those are a blast and only take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Fun way to get into it without frustrating yourself.
Above all of this though Crossfit. If you've never done it, I can give you instructions on how to use the website. After that, you can self train. That's what's great about it. I've never been formally trained in Crossfit but can post comparable times to what you see on the website. Reverend Hellhound is better at it than me though. He can help you out too. He's always on this thread.

Thanx I have been doing a sprint triathlon 3 years running now. Weak point is really the biking. I just bought me a decent bike this year but the weather has been so dang cold I've only used it once. If i don't get my butt used ot the bike seat I'll have problems again this year. Also gonna do a Spartan race in June, should be fun. As to the regular training I have a prob there, I work shifts and have kids. So when I`m not workign and kids in school everythign is fine but there are many days when i go from spending time with kids (homework/soccer/hockey/karate and just genreal spending time) to work with just sleep in between. Course there are days when I am all alone. Just getting a regular routine is hard as my work schedule isnt on a 7 day cycle and whether its mornings/evenings changes all the time. So its often 3-4 days continous trainign days followed by 3-7 of little to no training. I swim 3x a week but if i gotta work mornings I get at most 30 mins and only do that if there is someone else at work in case i show up late.

    Ill checkout the site though

My work is mostly sitting or standing so not much exercise there, well aside from a brain workout

Crossfit would be perfect for you then. Some workouts take as little as 15 minutes, if you push hit. It doesn't take much equipment either. I invested about $200 into gear and I have everything I need.
