What is your resting heart rate?
Here is a chart that shows where you should be. Resting heart rate chart to calculate heart rate Sadly Im 35 year old man with a rate of 84. I used to be very very active and in excellent shape but over the past few years I have become a couch potatoe and it shows. I am not fat ( 5'10" @ 160lbs) but I am very out of shape. I guess it's time to change my habits! |

According to my wrist blood pressure monitor w/pulse info, my resting pulse right now is 62. Puts me in "good". Though I would imagine it varies throughout the day. Blood pressure (since it's what I used to check) is 120/73, pretty average for me.

When I had my physical this summer I was at 64, with normal blood pressure.

My age group (63) now 62-67, last year it was in the low fifties; guess the ole man had better start kicking *** after the holidays.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't body size and weight account for levels of heart rate? This chart doesn't seem to take that into account.

Poor. Just over 100. Without my heart medicine, it averages at a buck-thirty. My blood pressure is similarly screwed.
Exercise helps, and I'm looking forward to getting back into the gym, but even light cardio throws my pulse over 200. I'm hoping that the new medicine helps with that, so I can get better cardio workouts. And hopefully live past 40. |
