Thank you. But it's not really all that...I just keep lots of fresh vegetables in the kitchen so when it comes time for dinner, I just throw it together.

I buy lots of veggies and they end up compost material before I figure out what I'm supposed to do with them

I used to have that problem, too. But then I figured out something: veggies are just good. And when you have a whole mix of them, it's even better. Also, most vegetables shouldn't stay in the refrigerator. Keep them in a hanging basket where they get plenty of air and always pull from the oldest first.

And seriously...just steam a bunch of them and throw 'em on a plate with some rice when you start getting close to having them expire. And the good thing about veggies is if you don't sauce them up or butter them, you can eat as much as you want and never have to worry about weight.

Hmmm ... interesting. I have been keeping the cherry tomatoes in the hanging basket, and have been eating more of them. I guess I'll start keeping more veggies in the basket.

We got a couple produce keepers in the spring, I thought they would help us keep stuff longer before they went bad. So far, they've been great for berries, grapes, and lettuce, but the other stuff doesn't fit, so it gets mushy.

Re: What did you have for dinner?

Cooking is one of those things where you can always start off with recipes, but recipes can only take you so far... they are the training wheels on a bicycle.

Experimenting and using your own taste-buds is really the definition of cooking; it is an expression of who you are, and you cannot express it through a recipe Emeril wrote.

There is absolutely no excuse to learning to cook. Being able to cook is something we, as humans, are hard-wired to. The really good cooks are those who take the time to cultivate their cooking.

Just by looking at Rev's pictures you can tell much about his culinary identity and a bit about him; large slabs of meat cooked at high temperatures almost no greens.

I will post some of my pictures from when i was cooking at my dorm over the past school year in a bit

Re: What did you have for dinner?

Some things I cooked up while living on Campus this past year.

Jalapeno Bread

Olive Oil - Tomato - Cheese Bread

Cinnamon-Banana Scone

The scones are a bit outdated style of mine. Now I have triangular ones that are usually fluffy and barely sweet (prefer preserves with mine)

And your basic Arborro based risotto
