All right - I joined a gym

A good rowing machine can provide an exhausting workout, if you do it right...

Other than that, cardio machines just don't seem to do anything for me. I've got to run outside.

I'm not sure what I want to do with my fitness - but I've maintained the same level of physical ability for 2 years - and I'm sort of sick and ****ing tired of it. I don't have any means of truly changing things enough to not really quit, either. So off I go to the gym.

What do you do when you don't have anything to do? Dunno - I don't want to gain anymore muscle mass but slimming down a bit more wouldn't hurt I suppose. I don't think it would take long, really.

I don't have a lot of time for the gym myself, so I keep my goals simple. When I go to the gym I just try to maintain a bpm of 152, which is right in the middle of anaerobic exercise for my age group. it just so happens that by the time I warm up to 152 I can go quite a bit higher after that, but my starting goal was (for me) quite conservative.

It's a nice little exercise that's extremely good for the heart, and as a result I've gotten my resting heart rate down 57-60bpm.

I've finally found a routine that's as demanding as my old routine, but with enough variety to where I'm not repeating anything in mind-numbing ways.

Join something that is fun for you and you will enjoy it more, would want to go. A gym isn't just for the body...or so they say.

Since I work at home I've found myself now (suddenly) irritated when I HAVE to be here to do my work. I quickly have gotten into getting up - leaving the house - and being gone for 6 hours (the library to work on my tablet - then the gym).

I used to really sit around here all day long and feel fine doing that. *rollseyes*

Home is my happy place, my refuge. It feels good to go out and mingle. Keeps my mind off of myself. Finding just one person who likes the things I so enjoy is priceless. Jogging alongside someone, exercising in the park, weather depending, aerobics...it is more fun with others. Just ask around. You'll be surprised how many others are out there who are looking for a 'partner in crime'.
