I keep getting emailed when someone replies in a thread in which I've posted. Then I ping the subscriptions to never email me, but they do anyway.

user cp --> edit options --> default thread subscription mode (middle of page) change drop down to "no email"

Thank you. I've done that, but each time I respond in a thread, it automatically subscribes me. Then I gotta go back to user CP ... There must be a way to not be automatically subscribed. I know it's somewhere, and this newbie will figure it out. =)

After changing the drop down, do you scroll down to the bottom and click the button to save the change you made?

just changing the drop down box alone won't do it.

Yep, but then when I post in another thread, something automatically defaults to sign me up for instant notifications.

so every time you go back to your user cp options, does it once again show that you will receive email, or is "no email" the selected option?
