Zyphlin was just an internet handle I used on a number of forums and it just happened that as I registered for new forums I ended up reusing it, finding it a bit simpler just to have one handle throughout. No real meaning to it at all.

Is there anyway to quickly isolate the posts for which one has been given thanks? I just now realized I've been thanked 9 times but I have no idea where or by whom.

Oh, yes, in your profile on the left side it says "Show all Thanked Posts by... and it shows the posts you made that people thanked you for.
