I often see that my posts have been quoted, but when I try to see what was quoted, I get a message that says I do not have permission to view the page. Sometimes, it might even be a thread that I started, but the thread apparently gets moved somewhere where I can not access it. Does this sound typical?

Not really. What do you do to to access the reply?

It sounds like you're talking about the basement. If you want to see those posts(you should keep away from the basement) then you need to join the group.

If people quote you in areas of the forum you don't have access to then you will still get notification of this in the who quoted me window. One of the most popular reasons for this to happen(specially if you're right wing) is if someone quoted you in the basement.

Some bad threads die and go to thread hell. If you manage to stay around long enough, you'll be reunited.
