Apparently, Simon Cowell is a Tory. I didn't think such a celebrity existed in England.

Give a man a fish, and you've created a liberal. Teach him to fish, and you've created a life-long conservative.
More celebrities seem to be left-leaning.
Only such ivory-tower types could be rolling in money, fame and immunity from poverty (least 'til the bubble bursts and it's all spent) and still go on about being a 'Working Class Hero' for example!

Just one more reason to like Simon.

"Dey rapin' e'rybody out heah!!!" - Old Yorkshire saying

Of course he's a conservative. He's fighting to protect his status and privilege as the King of the Beavers.
But you can't fool Owls.
But it looks as if he had mates from the Dark Side:
Simon Cowell could be knighted
Yep, old cyclops Brownstuff himself put Cowell up for a knighthood in one of his last deranged acts as PM.
Not even his unpopular predecessor Harold Wilson was as shameless in chasing popularity when he had the Beatles honoured. The Fab Four 'only' got the MBE, which was merited, whilst Cowell shall become a knight for being to rude to people on TV. (Perhaps Brown wanted some reflected glory for his own bullying and insults!!)
But still, if Golden Gordon was prepared to cripple the country by dementedly splurging untold billions in a vain attempt to prop up his junta, not much would surprise me.
