BBC News - Major jobs cuts on way in NHS, nurses' leader says

One of the many problems with the NHS is the ballooning management teams deemed necessary by NU-Labour to run the monolith.

Until these layers are removed and Managers capable of actually managing are brought in to do just that, the NHS will continue under NU-Labour to bleed the economy.

The NHS should have been that which at it's inception it was designed to be, a system of Healthcare for those who would otherwise be unable to afford private health care.

What it has over the years become is a milch cow that anyone legally resident in the UK believes they are allowed to milk at the slightest whim.

No amount of electioneering from the thieves who are presently heading up the main parties can possibly change either the state of the NHS nor the electorates idea that milking is the correct thing to do.

Agreed, though I would say the management teams and a target setting / target driven culture are pretty big problems.

You won't find many who agree you there, including me. I want a National Health Service which is just that - "National" and not for the poor only and not for those who cannot afford it. We're a better society than that, the NHS is a system of healthcare free at the point of delivery for those who need it - not those who "cannot afford private health care."
