Petrol costs have risen higher than most European countries under Labour, with most of the money being creamed off as tax:

London drivers pay up to £100 to fill their tanks as petrol hits record high | News

By the last count, 83p of every Pound was stolen by the Treasury. This is just one more way the Climate Change swindle is being used to fleece the poor British Public, a public taxed to the eyeballs in a vain effort to counterbalance the toxic emissions of New Labour's lefty mates in China.

Cat's out of the bag now:

Minister Says Global Warming Just A Tax Scam

As if motorists hadn't enough to worry about from the deviously shrouded cameras, stupendously high taxes, neglected road maintainace and all the rest of it inflicted by John Prescott, Greedy Hypocritical Incompetent Pig Number One in New Labour.

What a bruiser! This is the man who lectured the Public for being petrol-wasting, gas guzzler fascists when he himself had many cars and even drove 800 YARDS to a Labour conference hall! The porky glutton couldn't even get his 'bulimia' right, as he'd wolf down his super-large dinners but not quite get it all back up again! When he should look like Princess Di did, he actually looks like Giant Haystacks!

Last I heard of him he wanted to use spy cameras against people in their own homes:

Prescott satellite to spy on your home - UK Politics, UK - The Independent

At least, unlike Brown, he left his legacy, foul though it is:

I love British colloquialisms. It's practically a fetish of mine.

Aww, how Conservative; only caring once YOU are effected :)

I read an interesting article a while back where a woman pointed out that regardless of how much we pay for gas, we're willing to pay FAR more for other things without complaint.

Her example was coffee. The large size of coffee at Starbucks is 20 ounces and costs like six bucks (IIRC, I dont go to Starbucks). That means there's about six cups of coffee to make a gallon so you're paying about 36 bucks a gallon for coffee...and no one complains.

Coffee's not the same as petrol. I don't know how much it's taxed in the US, but along with everything else motorists may well be degraded as if they are lepers. And they get double the dose if they smoke.

Coffee may be expensive if you don't go to the supermarket. Or you may indulge in video games, DVDs, scratchcards or plain simple car boot sale binges. But those are for pleasure, not a necessity of life for most people. And that's the difference.

Though, to be fair, there are some things I'm surprised we didn't get under 12 years of New Labour. Things like this:

Cross-dressing teens get own school bathroom - Asia-Pacific - msnbc.com

And before all the leftists say 'what a good idea', other Thai weirdos are catered for too:

Kick-boxing orangutans at a theme park in Bangkok, Thailand - Telegraph

(Actually, the gender-bending idea has been got off the ground: http://www.debatepolitics.com/europ...rd-absolutely-mr-clarkson.html#post1058581040. They go too far every time!)

PS - In an embarassing error I wrote above that Prescott drove 800 yards to a conference hall for his wife's hairdo, probably because he's too portly to go a few steps without gasping.

This is wrong. Actually, it was just 60 yards he couldn't be bothered to walk.
