I tried to find a Youtube clip I once saw of John Major tearing Gordon Brown off a strip in 1989, for saying the economy under Labour a decade before was in much better shape than Margaret Thatcher's!

Unfortunately I couldn't find it, so instead here's Flash Gordon's slip of the tongue on the bank bailouts:

Indeed, they can't even make a token effort to serve the country immediately before an election!
