EU: Goods made at Jewish settlements are not Israeli

Alright Mr. Smug, don't let's keep it a secret.

Or perhaps you want me to win the argument by providing my own solutions if the 'real' one is kept a closely guarded secret!

Uh, what?

I was just pointing out that you can't base current politics on what happened thousands of years ago. That's all.

Ordinarily no, but the point is that the Palestinians do. Before Israel was 'invented' by US-backed Zionist pigs (as it were), old newsreels captured those we call Palestinians complaining about interlopers on their ancient land.

I've seen quite a few contemporary Islamic websites whinge about ancient homelands, original settlements dating back centuries and Muslim historical links being broken too, which is cheek of the highest order but there you go. So for me it isn't inconsistent anyway.

Okay, but what's that have to do with this topic? The EU doesn't care about this stuff.

It doesn't really, things just wandered.

My original point was of the irony of duty levied on Jewish produce and duty free on Palestinian video games. I didn't expect it to go anywhere really.

Every tiny little comment about the Middle East goes somewhere!

Assuming you actually fail to take into account the terror attacks on Israeli soil for the past... oh... since the country was founded (the reason for such restrictions), then you could actually have a case.

Actually, the terrorism predates the establishment of Israel by several decades.

The Nazi collaborator al Husseini (uncle to Arafat) organized terror campaigns dating back to the early twenties.

Otherwise, carry on :)

Well, yeh, I know that. But I usually refer to the terror that the Israeli state experiences on a regular basis when it actually exists.

Give it time.. anything that goes against Israel on these boards = anti-Semitic and the usual crowd come running slamming people...

It's not just on DP, it's everywhere. It's a convenient way to silence Israel's critics.

Moderator's Warning:
Once again, this thread is not about anti-Semitism, either at DP or elsewhere. Remain on-topic.
