A mum terrorised her kids by beating and cutting them with kitchen utensils for decades, but was only turned in when one of them complained to a schoolteacher. This despite social workers 'monitoring' the situation since 1990!

It's been mentioned on this forum how angry I am, ironically on a thread about Europe because we should be more 'European' on some things. We could be like the French who have riots or like the Italians who run people off. We certainly shouldn't just sit there and let things like this stand.
No doubt the neglecting 'social workers' were just 'following procedure' as an excuse not to act. The Baby P case was a shining example of aloofness, arrogance and pig-headedness of liberals who don't really care at all. Victoria Climbie was another one.
Perhaps if any social worker who allowed a child to die at the hands of scumbag parents were punished with being branded by a hot screwdriver, they may just grow spines and do what's right rather than just what Sharon Shoesmith or the Labour council says.
