John Bull is a born Conservative; for this too I inexpressibly honour him. All great Peoples are conservative.

I think this article is indicative of just how much the Tories have left their traditional base and abandoned the sizable enough constituency of British conservatives. Get ready for Blue Labour and another left-liberal triumph.

Lib Dems spurn olive branch from David Cameron the 'con man' | Politics | The Observer

David Cameron and Nick Clegg were last night locked in a battle for the soul of liberal Britain after the Conservative leader claimed there was "barely a cigarette paper" between their two parties.

The lib dems should be almost as bad as Labour to any genuine social conservative Briton.

Suppose the 'soul of Britain' doesn't particularly want to be fought over by these liberal grassholes?!

As with Labour chasing more conservative voters and taking it for granted the grassroots will always vote for them anyway, Cameron is proving he's being the 'heir to Blair' by following his flawed power plan. Soon Cameron will find that he's connected to nobody as he has to a do a little to appease each side, with both feeling quite betrayed. Labour people felt that NuLab would do for them but feel 'bilked' over things like privatisation. Meanwhile, the more conservative folk who foolishly voted NuLab reel over things like the PC lunacy which has wrecked this country.

No wonder there are plenty of small local parties getting somewhere in local elections, not to mention larger national parties like the busted flush of UKIP and rather-surprising-to-be-there BNP.
