Poverty is relative or absolute or subjective. I'm happy for you to present anything in support of your comment.

The thread is about Britain. We do not have the same elderly proportion of the population. We do have high elderly poverty rates. Of course we also have high child poverty rates and high working poverty rates.

One way to fix the situation would be to eject all of the islamics that have more than one wife. This would bring the muslims in-line with the law of the land and it would make funds available to British natives who are living in abject poverty.

Common misconception. Breadline Europe, adopting an absolute poverty measure, found Britain has a substantial poverty problem (9% if my memory serve me right)

The pertinent question is "will Britain always have more poor?"

Poverty has never been confined to "are you starving to death?".

We have three methodologies. You may argue that relative poverty confuses poverty with income inequality. However, subjective poverty (normally adopting a "consensus definition" of absolute poverty) tends to produce similar poverty thresholds. Then we have absolute poverty. I've already referred to the findings from that methodology: Breadline Europe, using the definition spawned by the World Summit on Social Development, found absolute poverty to be rife in Britain
