Russia demonstrating wish to control Baltic Sea area

7 October 2016

Estonian officials have said that Russia appears to be moving powerful, nuclear capable missiles into Kaliningrad, a Russian outpost province sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania along the Baltic coast. The Iskander-M missiles, which have a range of over 500km, are reportedly being transported by ship from the St Petersburg area. An Estonian defence expert said: “This weapon is highly sophisticated and there is no comparable weapon in western armoury. It can carry nuclear weapons, change direction mid-flight and fly distances of up to 500km. As such it is capable of threatening Poland, including the US missile defence installations there.

The Russians already have a missile brigade on Kaliningrad, but the OTR-21 Tochka short-range missile is less sophisticated, and not capable of carrying nuclear weapons. The Iskander-M, the Persian name for Alexander the Great, is a ballistic rocket system designed to destroy strategic targets, and its stationing is arguably in breach of the intermediate-range nuclear forces treaty....

I think it is true that Nato should have accepted Ukraine's and Georgia's applications and moved forces East. That way the Russians wouldn’t have committed war crimes nor have supported friends committing crimes against humanity. That way Putin wouldn’t have been such serious criminal .....
....until Syria.

It doesn't really make too great a difference. All it means is that Nato should restation troops to the East. The Russians are building a new nuclear capability and can deliver a nuke stationed in siberia in Paris. The only worry is that the reaction time is shorted to European capitols of which two must react immediately or never to incoming rockets. The danger of mistakes thus grows. It's sort of like Pakistan and India or China, where delivery time leaves practically no time.

Let's see. About that Syrian thing. USA/CIA/NED/FreedomHouse, colluding with Saudi Arabia and Qatar have created an insurrection in Syria that has claimed half a million lives and created millions of refugees. Then, Syria asks Russia for help and Russia helps by killing terrorists on a grand scale. The USA keeps saying that the terrorists it sponsors are nice guys even though video shows them to be head choppers of children. The USA is supporting al Qeda/ISIS/terrorists/head choppers/al Nusra Front/Jahbat al Fatah al Sham on the UN terrorist list and you think Putin is committing crimes against humanity. Look at Iraq, Libya, and Syria after you get your head out of the sand, or not?

Actually it was the dictator shooting at his people because they did not like the methods he used to maintain control, that led to an insurrection. Sort of like a modern day Boston Tea Party. But we all know you prefer anything that is against the US and, if it isn't you retell the story so it is.

That would be the "dictator" that won the election that the CIA/NED etc. worked so hard to defeat and then chose to arm the protestors (CIA/NED agitators) because they didn't like the election results. When Qaddaffi asked the USA for heilp against the terrorists in Libya, we did the same thing and helped the terrorists. I know, I know, a few eggs must be broken to create a complete and total morasss like the current Libya and that must be the USA intent in Syria because it is following the same playbook.

Libya? Complain in Paris, London and Rome. Then take the UN to task for not securing the the situation.

Where you are right is that Obama was negligent in not putting more force behind it.

Having watched our President Limpwrist bow and scrape for eight years, it does not surprise me at all to see Russia make this provocative move now. We may see more like it during his last three months in office.
