Senior military officials said all applicants should now be screened by the intelligence services for jihadist links

And they disclosed that 64 Islamists are already feared to have embedded themselves within the armed forces, along with 268 right-wing extremists and six left-wing extremists.

Terrorists are attracted to the army because they can use the training to plot future terror attacks in Germany, it’s been reported in Germany.

It's a no brainer and we have them here....Hassan in Texas was only one example!

These Islamist ****ers are sneaky, treacherous and will take over if given the opportunity!

It is always a possibility, though I doubt Hassan falls into this category. You don't become a psychiatrist in the Army to learn useful combat or terrorist techniques. He was probably just radicalized after joining.

Doesn't matter when he was radicalized.....the fact remains that he was!

And how exactly do you suggest we screen for things that haven't happened yet?

Also, I'm a bit more concerned about the 268 "right-wing extremists" - you know what kinds of "extremists" Germany can produce.

There will be fans of racial / religious profiling who also believe in being thought police.

Exactly, but let's not concentrate on ALL 338 extremists but just on the 64 of them... :doh

1.)Suspected extremists
2.)Why do you only focus on the Islamic suspected extremists but ignore the other? Its pretty telling your whole point of the thread when you only personally focus on these. Its just another Islamophobic, Muslim bashing thread by you.

3.)How the **** do you stop something that has already happened? One could become radicalized at any given moment and they also dont have to openly express said radicalization.

Mickey cites The Sun which in turn cites The Telegraph and not a German source in sight.

Relax guys, this is just another Mickey - :failpail:

It's not so much a problem of trying to stop something that hasn't happened as it is a matter of checking for something that isn't there yet. Which is arguably worse.

Mickey's sources are always a laughing stock. It's nice that he's so worried about Europe. After all there are no problems to worry about in his own country.

So was Timothy McVeigh, and he wasn't a Muslim. Just a good, old fashioned American right wing nutjob.

Hassan expressed anti-American sentiments dozens of times, and his statements were ignored because Army personnel were afraid of being labeled as Islamophobic. There is the problem. Hassan later went on to kill 13 people in a matter of minutes.

Our system of treating "Islamophobes" as more of a threat than Muslims who express hatred of the U.S. is why were in this mess.

why don't they have agents who join isis ranks in return?
