'Borders are the worst invention ever!'

I was referring to the US as a Nation. Our history only goes back to approximately 1492, ....................~
You're really on a roll today, eh?

Yeah, yeah, I know you address 1776 a coupla sentences later. But what the heck does Columbus have to do with you or, better said, you with Columbus? You from Genoa as well?

Yes they do, and then darkness comes and neither has a laser on their weapons.

I can shoot just fine in the dark. ;)
Well, shooting ain't the issue, hitting is. And on the latter I'm sceptical on your "fine". :2razz:

Yep, due west of Kitzbuhel.
now all we need to do is cover the "what".

~............................. Alpbach is deep in Tyrol, he must be on holiday.
He was visiting the European Forum Alpbach, ferchrissake. Guest speaker and all that.

It takes place every year and lots of thinkers are invited. Which would explain why some on here, being excluded from the invitation list for obvious reasons, never heard of it. :2razz:

No worries, I wasn't invited either. Probably because my propensity for not speaking on matters I know nothing of discouraged them to the point of thinking that I don't speak at all.

So happy we're an island.

What a socialist fool! That is a prime reason why the EU is a bad deal.

He's not a socialist. His party is a Christian Democrat/centrist outfit, yet I notice you didn't say "Christian fool!"

The borderless Schengen zone works well, with more advatages than disadvatages. We need strong borders on the periphery of Europe, but not within. Just as I'm sure you wouldn't want borders with controls bewteen the states of the US? Or would you?

You ran away from the other thread again Mickey. You're such a disappointment.

I was referring to the US as a Nation. Our history only goes back to approximately 1492, not thousands of years, like in Europe. We are still a new country in comparison. Sure you can count the Native American Indians, but their culture(as rich as it is) had been squashed by US expansion and the Indian wars.
They became a defeated people....many seem to forget that fact.
What I am saying is that everything prior to 1776 is a footnote in history, and our Nation became "one" in 1776.

Makes the US older than many European countries, including Germany and Italy.

In their present form yes, but nations existed long before Germany in the area known as Germany, and the population of said areas pretty much the same as it was 300 years ago. Same with Italy. Not so with the US, as the original population was all but wiped out through a genocidal war.

Sounds like he wants to make Europe one country.
I can see why Americans would not like that idea.

I wouldn't mind removing the US/Canadian border. That way we can alleviate some of the overcrowding conditions that are prevalent in the U.S.

Are you down with that idea?

Hey, come on up. All we ask is that you don't shoot anyone while you're here and you don't yodel when you sing.
Just remember, though- you're talking about a country that's north of Buffalo, NY, north of North Dakota.

Thanks Grand. I'd vote for removing the border with Canada. We have millions of immigrants who could probably find employment opportunities and housing in Canada, which would relieve some of the social programs here in the US.
Mexico has no end in sight to their poverty problems, and if we could send new arrivals up north, it might help to ease the burden on California and you'd get a fresh source of labor.
