So now we know..

German born, history of being bullied and psychiatric care because of it.. a possible obsession with mass shootings.

And zero links to ISIS or radical Islam.

The gunman is then heard to say "I was born here."

Of course it did not... every mass shooting outside the US is automatically blamed on ISIS.. use to be Al Q, now it is ISIS and of course those so called "dirty Muslims".

And we still have people pointing out his Iranian heritage as proof that he was another "Muslim terrorist"... and totally ignoring the fact he was born in Germany and all the other issues.

Now they are reporting links to Brevik, but that wont change the rhetoric coming from the usual suspects.

Mussolini the founder of Fascism said it was a left wing movement. As the most prominent left socialist intellectual and journalist of his day he must be taken seriously. As well as the fact that early support came from the socialist non-communist left. The 'left-wing/right-wing' thing has become so muddled, confused and misunderstood that it should be abandoned.

German gun law has several categories. Most common being that of one may own but not carry. That's for those belonging to a sports shooting club who may transport the unloaded gun from home to range Such "Possession" licences are issued only after heavy vetting. Same applies to hunters. Obviously those with crimial records or a history of psychiatric disorder don't get the card.

Very few may actually carry a gun in public. It's usually related to "profession" or being classified as highly endangered.

The Glock was not acquired within any of these models, obviously.

Well, to be truthful, it's also that ISIS falls over itself to claim credit for practically every killing.

Yes this seems to be the case. He went after teenagers because he was bullied by teenagers at school. He was obsessed with mass shootings including the one committed by Brevik five years ago. As I was saying several times the fact that he had committed suicide after the act really told us that it wasn't an Islamist attack, that's not something that a person who believes that dying by the hand of 'the enemy' while killing infidels will grant him a place in heaven does. That's something a psycho killer does.

That's why I want to wait and see what they find about the way he managed to get his hands on a pistol. If he went through background checks and still got one that's disturbing considering all we know about him now.

Yes it does, hence any claim by them has to be ignored .. at least until there is some sort of evidence that they were directly involved.

Yeah, getting hold of a piece is considerably more difficult in Germany than, for instance, in the US. But not impossible. Be that hardware legal or illegal.

You may recall the Winnenden school spree shooting. There the hardware was "legal", Dad had simply been very much remiss in keeping it under locks as the law required.

Dad was sentenced for manslaughter, albeit the sentence being suspended. Twas more a case of establishing guilt rather than adding to the family misery by jailing the guy.

You can actually purchase a Kalashnikow with near limitless ammunition in the backstreets of Aix la Chappelle for little money and no paperwork. It's like drugs. If you want to you can find the (criminal) supplier.

Oh yeah, every child and teenager in this restaurant should have been provided with a gun. That sounds like a perfect idea. :D

As I think of it, it's the perfect solution for school shootings: Give every student a gun. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
