Theresa May, radical Conservative?

You might try an Internet search entitled 'Boris Johnson insulting foreign nationals and leaders'. Or you could just read Manc Skipper's link. It's amazing what you can find on the Internet.

I had been following the insults by Schulz, Juncker and other Europeans recently fired at the British politicians.

Ps: did you actually read the link yourself? Which of the perceived gaffs would you qualify as insulting?

And they are? Prove it.. and no insults against Farage and Boris dont count.

You obviously only hear, what you want to hear or have not been following the press and other media. I found this in the first Google hit:
"Guy Verhofstadt, sagte im Parlament, Johnson und Farage erinnerten ihn an "Ratten, die das sinkende Schiff verlassen"."

Deutschland Funk and France24 have been full of quoted insults of all types by EU and member state politicians or bureaucrats. Now don't get me wrong. I do not propose we should forbid calling adversaries "rats". I would only want to remind you that doing so is a well known tool of totalitarian ideologies and works quite well. The addressees begin to accept it to the point of assimilating the negative emotions towards the enemy. And this method has been being used in force by public figures and media in a number of the social democracies across the continent.

A typical PeteEU. You do not think that the protection of minorities should protect those you hate. That is quite normal for the EU lobbyists, however. It is one of the main misunderstandings of the EU constitution and philosophy. Juncker recently pointed it out inadvertently, when he answered that the EU gives budget leeway to France 'because it is France', how sick the perception in this matter is in the EU.

PS: As the defamation of the Brexiters is not done without purpose the media and EU politicians must use well known names among their flock. Cameron had been focused for a while as the culprit and was often referred to with insulting terms. But he is now only styled as a loser, which is also an insult in Germany, at any rate. It is very much the way the media would often refer to Bush as the "alcoholic Bush", when he was being demonized there.

And more typical joG.. still no proof what so ever and more irrelevant crap to the subject at hand.

Again, PROVE IT!

Oh, it is absolutely to the point at hand, as the discussion has developed. You challenged me to show insult and I did. That you want to weasel your way out is obvious and quite in keeping with the ways of the cause you stand for.

s/he's got him/herself fixated on that old saying to the point of accusing anyone using it as pursuing Nazism.

False equations of historical incidents are the forte here, knowledge of history is NOT.

Add the usual prevarications, twisting of facts, half truths, straw manning and general disingenuous line of presentation of anything at all, and one wonders why anyone bothers with this altogether.

This is a joke post, right? How about referring to African children as 'pickaninnies' and 'watermelon eaters'? You're embarrassing yourself.

You are going to confuse Jog with posts like this. He finds nothing insulting about Johnson at all.

The appointment of Johnson as Foreign Secretary is an insult to every foreign country who's people or leadership he has insulted. Which is most of the world with the notable exception of Putin and Russia.

On the contary he often makes some very astute points, (as much as i disagree with some of the statements on the list very strongly) whether they are put in a way that would make hi a good diplomat is another matter. My guess is that Theresa May promised him the possition in exchange for dropping out of the leadership race. Not surprising as by all accounts she never too much of an interest in foriegn policy (as Ken Clark recently let slip) at least she had the prudence to make David Davis ´Minister for leaving the European Union´ so at least he can´t **** that one up:mrgreen:

The good thing with a foreign minister (secretary etc.) is that you can send him travelling. In other words "the hell out of the way".

He won't be involved much with Europe by the sound of it and wrt the rest of the world he won't be involved much in concluding any sort of deals that go beyond dinner parties.

Heck, if the UK weren't about to exit the EU, they could kick him upstairs to Brussels where all other nations park their undesirables.

We were talking about insults to foreign heads of state and politicians. But you are right that it is not nice to watermelon eaters as such. It is vastly impolite.

Just what you want in a Foreign Secretary, right? Pick out the person who has insulted the most foreign leaders and make him/her your person responsible for dealings with foreign leaders. Brilliant!

What truly nasty comment, part of a whole series in this thread.

And don't pretend you were joking.

Oh, I did not say he is a good choice. I only said that I would have liked seeing the insults he had directed at heads of state or foreign politicians. The evidence of this that was produced a´was negligible to the extent of not in any way explaining the wrath the is being leveled at him. That has more to do with the fact that he challenged the UE ideology on its own terms and with its own methods and beat the EU lobby.
