The Failure of the Multiculturalism experiment in France

I've gone to calling them "Mickey-Fails"

To German hick:

that's a play on "Mickey Finns". Nowhere near the same knock-out effect but enough of them can make you puke.

thanks a lot - you answered me some "why" questions

here in Germany most deep right wing foreigner hating people live in the east - where aktually nearly no foreigners live

switzerland had a votum some time ago to make it harder for foreigners to live their - the Kantons wich voted in vast majority to minimize or ban foreign people living their where those where none live

it´s the fear of the unknown - seems quite normal :p ;)

I would say after all the criminal activity and section takeovers, that there is plenty to fear.
Allowing these mongrels to infiltrate your country, is not wise at all.
There will be more raping of the German women and female children, and more crime in general.

The Swiss IMO, have always been smarter than Germans.
This is one of MickeyW's hit-and-run threads. He makes a thread with a ludicrous assertion, immediately has it refuted, and quite easily I might add, then disappears because he has no response.

I think you are correct that much anti-foreigner, anti-immigration sentiments are driven by fear of the unknown and ignorance of the reality. There are many places with high migrant populations which face very serious economic challenges. Right wing and/or populist demagogues would have us believe that the immigration is the cause of those challenges, yet certainly in those northern towns in the UK where Brexit got a lot of votes on the basis of 'concerns about immigration', the economic decline was deep, severe and systemic before a single EU immigrant had set foot there. Places like Sunderland, Hartlepool and Barnsley, places with the highest Brexit majorities have been in decline since the 1960s, unabated. How that decline can be blamed on migration is beyond me.

I run a business and don't have time to lounge around here all day like some people. Nor do I use the boss's computer for my personal aggrandizement.

Mickey Finn's use to be a musical variety show on TV on Friday nights.

And I have failed nothing. Allowing all this immigration is ruining the Euro Zone! Your denial of that, speaks volumes.

So that means you're abusing your power to throw your subordinates off their desks.

I say boooh.:2razz:

As for failing, well, just keep 'em coming. One demonstration may be enough but it's always good to have confirmations.

So, no response. I take it back, not a hit-and-run post, just a whine-and-run.

You can fabricate in your mind....anything you want....

What else are we left with? You made a thread about the failure of the multicultural experiment in France when France has never, ever claimed or engaged in a multicultural experiment, quite the opposite. They engaged in an experiment in assimilation. It's like claiming that Bush's experiment in socialism failed. Makes no sense, but you knew that when you posted it. You posted it anyway and made yourself just look silly.

You are just playing word games....assimilation vs multiculturalism, is pretty much the same thing to me. The government forcing or allowing assimilation...is wrong when it destroys the cohesiveness of the original group. None of my friends in Austria, Switzerland or Italy like it one bit!

Now I didn't make the video or write the story, so that is what I have to go on.

They are both pretty self explanatory....and the video is nasty.

If you are going to deny this, might you be a Muslim?

It makes perfect sense to me, and no, I didn't know anything of the sort.

Condemned from your own mouth. You clearly have no understanding of political theory whatsoever.

FYI: 'assimilation' is the model America has always adopted of dealing with migrants. "You may come here but you must assume that your future allegiance is always to America first, your original nation/ethnicity/religion, second." That's what the US advocates. That's what France insists too. If you understood these issues you'd see a difference between that and the multicultural model of saying, "we are one nation that accepts that we all have different and equally valued cultures".

That these two models are 'pretty much the same thing to me' shows that you are a bit out of your depth in this discussion.

İf you don't colonize the world countries you don't need to feed them in your own country either

Andy, you explain the difference quite well :)

You have absolutely NO clue what you're talking about. Suggest you start with Will Kymlicka.
