Germany has ~410 main battle tanks. The DNR/LNR militants possess ~700+ tanks.

In the past week, Russia delivered 36 tanks, 6 armored vehicles, 11 artillery and MRLS pieces, 160 tons of ammunition, and 2400 tons of fuel to their proxy rebels in eastern Ukraine.

But what kinda of tanks? Germany uses Leopards--- are the Russians shipping T-72s?

DNR and LNR have a variety of tanks from T-64 models to newer T-72B modifications and new T-72B3.

The problem here is that the 700 figure is a product of Ukrainian ATO command and PR hacks fantasies, as nobody knows how many tanks they actually have and what portion of their tanks are intrinsically their and what part is just situational help from Russian forces.

That's mostly old stuff then. Which makes sense.

I don't know much about German tanks though, how modern are they and how they compare to Russian and Soviet T-72 modifications.
Generally, imo Germany having a more powerful military to defend itself and to promote its own interests both abroad and if needed in Europe is a good thing.

The first model of the Leopard 2 was introduced in 1979. I would guess the T-90 would be a rough equivalent to the Leopard series.

Leopards are highly effective vehicles, but they've seen very little action overall---only in Kosovo and Afghanistan

T-72B modifications are from the 80s and 90s, while T-72B3 are from ~2010+.
However, as I've mentioned before nobody really knows what is the portion of these tanks out of the total DNR/LNR tank force.

The Leopard 2A5 model was introduced in 1998 I think and the Leopard 3 is in development.

Isn't the B3 just the same T-72 but refurbished?

The T-72B modification are the "refurbished" old T-72.
T-72B3 is one of the newest versions of T-72B modifications, which currently competes with T-90 modifications for the title of Russia's MBT.

Where the Iraqi T-72s just regular T-72s?

Where the Iraqi T-72s just regular T-72s?

I think that they had the old T-72 and its modifications T-72M and T-72M1.
