Belgium has been importing these animals for years.

Belgium is a relatively small country that is home to a well-developed underground jihadist pipeline that has made it Europe’s biggest per capita source of fighters to Syria.

A number of terrorist plots in Europe and abroad have been connected to Belgium, including the attacks in Paris on Nov. 13.

It would be nice to not have to look at a group of people with suspicion. But, that would be about as naive as taking in a couple stray Rottweilers and leaving them alone with a three-year-old child.

Middle Eastern culture is simply not ready to integrate with Europe. I really don't know what there is to do about that wont just make the situation worse, but it really is undeniable.

Seeing these terror attacks in a country which welcomed them with open arms and has a history of inclusion and tolerance seems to support that statement. The radicalization did not come from the Belgium people, it is rather a fundamental trait among the Islamists.

Hind Fraihi, a Muslim and journalist who posed as a sociology graduate student, found that she could easily buy extremist literature urging people to take up arms to fight nonbelievers. She met young men being lured from lives of petty crime to violent jihad by local imams. And she interviewed a sheik who sent young men to a military training camp in southern Belgium’s scenic Ardennes and who was recruiting people to fight in Afghanistan and Chechnya.

...she says, because Belgian authorities have not done enough to fight extremism, “there is a whole generation waiting to participate in these actions”

IMO, it's the lax attention paid to the growing unrest in the Muslim community that led to this, and it will get worse long before it gets better.
 
Our turn is coming. We will reap what we sow. Securing our borders and having an immigration policy that does not reward criminals and people breaking our laws is stupid and racist.

Infiltrating radical groups with trained FBI agents is much more achievable and effective than is simply shutting the gates and building a huge crocodile-filled moat at the border.

Would you exterminate all Rottweilers and Pit Bulls or rather just weed out and kill off the vicious ones?

rotties are great

and wonderful around kids

we have a 2 year old rottie in the neighborhood....sweet as anything

except when you try to get near his kids....one of the best guard dogs around....period

comparing terrorists to a dog just isnt being nice to the dog

IMO, with Muslims you have to lay down the law as is done with a potentially vicious dog. If they want to be here, fine. Come on in. But, then they will abide by our laws, follow our customs and conform to our way of life, and leave behind that silly Sharia bull****. Personally, I would treat the radicals like I would the Mafia: wiretaps, informants, undercover agents and find every excuse in the book to enforce the RICO laws.
 
Is there still any hope to (peace and tolerance) our way out of this. Belgium was arguably the most peaceful and tolerant country regarding immigrants from north Africa and the Middle East over the past couple of decades, but this did not spare them.

These attacks are not going to stop, and will continue to get worse. Soon Europe will have to wake up to the idea that Islamic culture and European Culture are simply not ready to coexist.

I don't know. But, it does not look good. IMO, the only solution is to crack down on dissidents. Peaceful protests are OK, but once they start talking about blowing **** up, they have to be arrested, imprisoned and deported.

I would not allow any "Rottweillers or Pit Bulls" in my yard since I really can not tell which ones will turn on us. (Not to disparage any real dogs)
 
Let us just pause for a bit with prayers and condolences for the victims and their families.
Also, please, ease up on the hateful rhetoric. It doesn't make us, as a civilized society, look very good.

Belgium may be pretty tolerant but they are the HQ of NATO and they have intervened militarily in both Afghanistan and in Libya, plus they cooperate closely with the French.

I believe that would be a fair argument to make, especially if the yard is already full of poodles and schnauzers.

When we have 10 to 30 million people entering this country illegal weeding out the bad guys becomes impossible. We have millions of people entering this country that nobody even knows who they are where they are going even what they look like. Exactly how do you weed a handful of bad guys out of millions of people entering this country unchecked. We don't even know where they currently are to do any weeding. Unless we get a magic wand or something it is beyond hopeless. We might as wait for them to strike and chase them down after the fact.

Rewarding people breaking our laws entering this country illegally is beyond insane. That makes as much sense as hoping to reduce the number of bank robbers by giving all bank robbers immunity and letting them keep the money. With that kind of policy no wonder we have 10s of millions of people entering this country illegally. People are entering this country by the truck loads. Maybe the next truck load will be terrorist with a nuke furnished by North Korea. May be we can hit the lottery and weed the truck out from the millions of trucks in this country before they drive it into a major city and detonate the bomb.

I think a secure border makes more sense than trying to pick the terrorist out from among 300+ million people.
 
So, does Belgium have a problem with illegal immigration like we do in the USA? Were the cockroaches who pulled off the attack illegals? Were they refugees from Syria? Just who were they?

Before drawing any conclusions, perhaps we need to be able to answer questions like that.
