Whatever governments and politicians do - re Corbyn's ambitions - the people wouldn't want this mess, would they. And given these terrorists are peoples movements....

Our people are just plain sick of behaviour of many people from the outside. Let's see people power in Turkey put the kibosh on this whole shambolic EU affair, for example. Or end Islamic hatred for the world.

Your OP is unneccesarily hostile Medusa. I'm not a fan of Erdogen but I have no issue with the ordinary citizens of Turkey and I'm sorry that your fellow countrymen were targeted by terrorists. Take small comfort in the fact that there are still some of us who are disgusted by the acts of terrorism and disgusted at those who target innocent people, no matter what Country they live in.

I was there in April last year for the 100th Anniversay of the landings at ANZAC Cove. I met some wonderful, welcoming and hospitable Turkish citizens. I have no animosity towards them for what occured nearly 101 years ago.

All we need do is look at what the Islamic leaders have to say. They're the one in charge. Ypu can look at what the Muslim Brotherhood had to say in 1928 and beyond or a speech by Gadaffi in 2006. Their plans are plain yet despite all the evidence westerners, as in the 1930's, are terribly slow to catch on.

I'll not deny that Europeans have been know to be hypocrites but it their silence, and fear, their unwillingness to protect their freedoms and liberties, that has led us to this juncture. Now they are beginning to react, and of course it will become more serious than it should have been.

I disagree. It's is the Muslims who are winning. The West has no idea what to do at home much less the Middle East. There is no leadership, no cohesive policy from any of them. Noow many Europeans, on their own, are starting to respond the the surges of Islamists in their countries and the demands they've brought with them.

Listen to Gaffafi's speech a couple of posts back and whether he was right or wrong.

Do you feel there can be democracy and Islam, when Muslims control the majority? Or is it always inevitable that Islam will overwhelm individual freedoms and rights?
