Cute anecdote. Mastroianni acted a movie once, remember "Divorce Italian Style"? A comic satire on Italian Southerners and their traditions of the time. Not so different to you story. Not so long ago.

Modernity is quite good at gutting traditions and sapping religion's vitality. Creates a can of worms all its own, of course.

The guy in this story who killed his cousin would probably not face legal ramifications in his native Iraq. The fact that he was living in a country that doesn't allow you to kill a woman for refusing to marry you had no sway on him whatever. Assimilation not only failed here, it failed miserably.

Couldn't that same logic of "assimilation" be used for anyone who murders another human being? If murder for whatever reason is not a cultural norm or accepted in any western society, then could it be said that all murderers fail miserably at assimilation in civil society as well?

I am in Germany at the moment, have been since before this murder... speak the language, have listened to the radio and watched some news on TV (which is difficult to do because their news... difficult to watch)... and have heard nothing about this.

Well, not surprising really when you consider they tried to bury the New Year's onslaught of sexual assaults.

This is weaker anti-muslim proof than most of the Briebart links another poster regularly spams threads with.

1) The café is run by a British (white) woman who is married to a muslim guy who also cooks bacon at the café.
2) The café is frequented by muslims who don't complain about bacon being served or cooked in the same premises
3) The person who complained to the council about the smell of cooking bacon has a very non-muslim name - namely "Graham Webb-Lee."
4) The story is basically about a guy complaining about a business next door to him that may make noise / have lots of customers / disruption through sheer footfall.

Lastly, the guy (Webb-Lee) may simply be angry (possibly a racist who pretends he has muslim friends as the paper couldn't find them) about the white woman being married to a muslim and there being muslims at the door.

So how is this forcing us to accept islam? Shame on you.

Only if Christian ethos motivates it directly, as happens under the Sharia when honour killings are as common as the morning sun.

Only Lefties make huge efforts to make moral equivalence when it comes to Islamic barbarity and principles of Christian calmness. Where Catholocism is involved, Christianity's fake grandson, could any real ground be made here. And even then, talking about centuries ago for the juciest stuff.

You still haven't read your story properly - the guy who made the complaint to the council couldn't produce any of his so called muslim friends.

Even the express isn't making any such claim that islam is being forced on us. You have seen that muslims were involved and your take on the story is basically "damned if they do (integrate) and damned if they don't (integrate)"

For shame.
