UKIP outs top paid EU officials

As we've seen on many occasions, countries can continue to function perfectly well without a Prime Minister or President. Most public bodies and departments cannot function without a chief decision-maker/leader. Makes sense that a senior manager is worth more than a head politician.
And Europe functioned quite well without the EU. Trade deals are fine but losing sovereignty is not.

It did? the 1000 years of war was "functioning quite well" in your eyes? The 1000 years of trade disputes, crazy tariffs and taxes based on who you were or where you were from? Discrimination based on nationality, race and religion.. and sex of course. That was "functioning quite well"?

If you go back even less than 1000 years, you can find slavery in the US. Go back far enough in any country's history books and you'll get some dark pages.

So Europeans couldn't manage on their own and needed micromanagement from Brussels in order to work things out. No concerns now about race, religion, sex, etc, huh?

And some of it is ongoing today, yet being ignored.

Remind me how well Europe was doing economically and politically in the couple of decades immediately preceding the 1952 formation of the EU, or rather its original incarnation, the ECSC.

My golly gosh, we didn't know that.

The Europeans had finished another devastating World War just seven years earlier and you want to compare that with the Europe of today? All countries of the world have advanced since then, apart from those mired in Islam, so claiming a political union was necessary doesn't follow.

We can see the mess Europe is going through now and all based on whimsical laws coming out of Belgium, all of which seemed like such a good idea at the time. Though not such a good idea that the citizens would have much of a say in their future.
