Well, I have no issue with Turks being Muslim, skin color be danged.

I don't want their country in the EU because it does not meet the basic democratic standards required. Fault of the Turkish people only in as far as those having elected the current SB.

That's where Geert's and my way part.

As an intellectual exercise, BTW try Godwinning them both. Classical examples of where the comparison may be apt and is not.

The comparison is appropriate, no godwinning .

Although I'd certainly agree that Geert has ways to go to reach Adolf's level.

Again, Godwin's law does not do statements regarding truthfulness of the argument used but merely states that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1"

Yep. GW isn't yet a real danger. But his philosophy has been spreading as the traditional political parties, states and the EU continue to lose their legitimacy increasingly.

He is at 39 seats. All other parties (and I do mean every single other party in the country) disagrees totally with Wilders. And those parties are 111 seats making his racist points of view popular with 26% of the people wanting to vote for him in an opinion poll. That makes 74% of the Dutch public voting against his racist views.

I guess "Go Geert for 76 seats" then. By the way, it is a pure fallacy to assume all people voting for the other parties are against closed borders or pro islam immigration. I thought well over 3/4 is against.

You are wrong, it is 30 seats compared to 27 seats which would make the PVV at 20% and the VVD on about 18% of the vote. And as said previously, all other parties totally disagree with Wilders and almost all do not want to be in a government with him in it. And 20% of Wilders and his supporters is nowhere near 80% of people who disagree with him.

Those are 2 very different issues. Wilders is popular because he can say what he wants with no chance of him actually being held accountable for it because he knows the odds of him getting in a government are not that great because nobody wants to be complicit in working towards a racist and constitution violating government.

The only small accountability he has is in the court systems but even there he whines when he is being held accountable. Wilders loves mouthing off and saying racist, discriminatory and many other kinds of horrible things, but when people criticize him (aka use their freedom of speech) he and his very extreme followers send death threats/bully and harass people because saint Geert should never been criticized or disagreed with (according to his most ardent and idiotic followers).
